    The Hypocrisy of Elliot Spitzer

Michael Ramirez parodies Elliot Spitzer in backing away from his support for driver’s licenses for illegal aliens

New York Governor Elliot Spitzer is in big trouble and it wasn’t the SEX but money transfers that tipped off the feds.

Spitzer was leading a double life and he should resign immediately. His reckless, self-involved behavior is inexcusable and his public career is over. In fact, Spitzer may face legal jeopardy.

As recently as this past Valentine’s Day, Feb. 13, Spitzer, who officials say is identified in a federal complaint as “Client 9,” arranged for a prostitute “Kristen” to meet him in Washington, D.C.

The woman met Client 9 at the Mayflower Hotel, room 871, “for her tryst,” according to the complaint. Client 9 also is alleged to have paid for the woman’s train tickets, cab fare, mini bar and room service, travel time and hotel.

Spitzer, who made his name by bringing high-profile cases against many of New York’s financial giants, is likely to be prosecuted under a relatively obscure statute called “structuring,” according to a Justice Department official.

Structuring involves creating a series of financial movements designed to obscure the true purpose of the payments.

Prosecutors reportedly have a series of e-mails and wiretapped phone conversations of Spitzer.

In a interview two years ago, Spitzer, then-attorney general, told ABC News he had some advice for people who break the law. “Never talk when you can nod, and never nod when you can wink, and never write an e-mail because it’s death. You’re giving prosecutors all the evidence we need,” he said.

Spitzer’s career began with fighting organized crime and then prosecuting white collar criminals. This entire mess REEKS of HYPOCRISY. And, having his wife stand up there with him at the news conference – Good God!

Flap doubts Spitzer will remain in office past noon tomorrow.

New York Governor Elliot Spitzer to Resign Tonight Due to Prostitution Scandal?

New York State Gov. Elliot Spitzer is joined by his wife Silda as he makes a statement to reporters during a news conference Monday, March 10, 2008 in New York. Spitzer has apologized to his family and the public, but did not elaborate on a bombshell report that he was involved in a prostitution ring.

After apologizing to his family and voters for being involved in a prostitution scandal, it is now rumored that New York Governor Elliot Spitzer will resign his office this evening – perhaps by 7 PM EDT.

During a news conference Monday afternoon, Spitzer, 48, apologized to his family and the public, but did not go as far as to explain why. “I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family and violates my sense of right and wrong,” he said in a brief statement. “I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself.

“I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family,” he said alongside his wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, who was visibly upset as he spoke.

With Spitzer gone, will New York obtain the race in 2010 that America was to have this year?

Barack Obama Watch: Scorn Meets Hillary’s Vice President Hint

    obamamarch10aweb

Remember last week when Hillary suggested that Obama accept the Vice President spot on HER ticket? And, we received a hint at what Obama was thinking when his surrogate, former Democrat Senate Majority leader Tom Daschle said the following on Sunday’s Meet The Press:

“Well, Tim, it’s really a rare occurrence, maybe the first time in history, that the person who’s running number two would offer the person who’s running number one the number two position. What Barack has said is that’s way premature. He doesn’t have any interest in being vice president. He’s going to be our presidential nominee.”

Senator Obama has been MORE direct today.

    The Money Quotes:

    • “I don’t understand. If I am not ready, why do you think I would be such a great vice president?” Obama asked the crowd, which gave him a standing ovation during his defense. “I don’t understand.”
    • “You can’t say he is not ready on day one, then you want him to be your vice president,” Obama continued. “I just want everybody to absolutely clear: I am not running for vice president. I am running to be President of the United States of America.”

From the tone of this speech, Flap does NOT think Obama will be asking Hillary to be on HIS ticket.

Or why Hillary Clinton is any more qualified to be president than Barack Obama.

Former Democrat Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, an Obama supporter, throws Hillary Clinton under the bus on Sunday’s Meet The Press.

Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) on Sunday questioned Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (N.Y.) pitching of herself as the most experienced candidate in the Democratic presidential race, suggesting her years as first lady do not add much to her foreign policy credentials.

“I worked with her; I know what a good first lady she was,” Daschle said. “But it would be hard for me to draw some degree of connection between being a first lady and having the experience to be the commander in chief.

“I don’t think anyone can look at her experience as first lady and say, for some reason, that qualifies her to run for president of the United States.”

On Barack Obama accepting the number two spot as the Democrat Vice President nominee with Hillary at the top of the ticket.

    The Money Quote:

“Well, Tim, it’s really a rare occurrence, maybe the first time in history, that the person who’s running number two would offer the person who’s running number one the number two position. What Barack has said is that’s way premature. He doesn’t have any interest in being vice president. He’s going to be our presidential nominee.”

In other words, Team Obama is telling the Clinton Cabal that he will go to the Denver Convention in the fall to fight for the Presidential nomination. And, why not?

Obama HAS won the most elected Democrat delegates.
