The latest Gallup tracking poll has Barack Obama leading Hillary Clinton by 10 percentage points.

Barack Obama has extended his lead over Hillary Clinton among Democrats nationally to 52% to 42%, the third consecutive Gallup Poll Daily tracking report in which he has held a statistically significant lead, and Obama’s largest lead of the year so far.

Yet, John McCain is beating Barack Obama by three points.

Flap will look at the electoral college maps tomorrow morning. For a year where the Democrats hope to capture the White House and with incumbent Republican George W. Bush’s poll numbers in the 30 per cent range, they are not commanding ANY type of lead.

The electoral college prospects for Barack Obama are more bleak – but that is for tomorrow.
