Hillary Clinton Watch: Hillary – Obama Cannot Beat McCain
In a telephone call prior to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s endorsement of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton told Richardson:
“He cannot win, Bill. He cannot win.”
Obviously, Bill Richardson did NOT agree and endorsed Obama anyway.
Flap bets he did not analyze these electoral college maps that show Hillary matches up better against McCain.
But, with the damage that both of the Democrats have been exacting on each other, John McCain continues to maintain an Electoral College lead in the polls.

Hillary Clinton Watch: New 3 AM Ad Attacks McCain on the Economy; Update: Team McCain Fires Back
*****Update*****
Team McCain fires back at Hillary Ad
“John McCain is ready to lead with a pro-growth economic plan to lower taxes, cut government spending, empower America’s entrepreneurs and get our economy back on track. Americans can’t afford the Democrats’ liberal agenda to raise taxes, nationalize health care, cut off trade and crush the economy under big government.†— McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds

Hillary is ready for the 3 AM phone call announcing an economic crisis.
This 3 AM ad by Hillary is WEAK compared to her last one which attacked Barack Obama on his lack of military and foreign policy experience.
Announcer: It’s 3 am, and your children are safe and asleep.
But there’s a phone ringing in the White House and this time the crisis
is economic.Home foreclosures mounting, markets teetering.
John McCain just said the government shouldn’t take any real action on
the housing crisis, he’d let the phone keep ringing.Hillary Clinton has a plan to protect our homes, create jobs.
It’s 3 am, time for a president who’s ready.
Hillary Clinton: I’m Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.
Hillary’s economic plan is all RAISE TAXES and REDISTRIBUTE THE PROCEEDS. Smoke and mirrors to bail out folks who are victims of a housing bubble.
This is not to say that John McCain will do NOTHING. But, Hillary is good at not telling the truth, now isn’t she?
The first 3 AM ad REALLY channels John McCain:

Bill Clinton Blows Up at a California SuperDelegate Over Bill Richardson’s Endorsement of Obama
Bill Richardson and former President Bill Clinton watching the 2008 Super Bowl in happier times
Former President Bill Clinton obviously knows how to play HARDBALL. But………The Bill Clinton who met privately with California’s superdelegates at last weekend’s state convention was a far cry from the congenial former president who afterward publicly urged fellow Democrats to “chill out” over the race between his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barack Obama.
In fact, before his speech Clinton had one of his famous meltdowns Sunday, blasting away at former presidential contender Bill Richardson for having endorsed Obama, the media and the entire nomination process.
“It was one of the worst political meetings I have ever attended,” one superdelegate said.
According to those at the meeting, Clinton – who flew in from Chicago with bags under his eyes – was classic old Bill at first, charming and making small talk with the 15 or so delegates who gathered in a room behind the convention stage.
But as the group moved together for the perfunctory photo, Rachel Binah, a former Richardson delegate who now supports Hillary Clinton, told Bill how “sorry” she was to have heard former Clinton campaign manager James Carville call Richardson a “Judas” for backing Obama.
It was as if someone pulled the pin from a grenade.
“Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that,” a red-faced, finger-pointing Clinton erupted.
Bill Clinton was PISSED at New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson for having endorsed Obama as he earlier had dispatched James Carville to HATCHET Richardson in the press – comparing him to Judas.
Team Obama and Team McCain are having the last laugh……..

John McCain Watch: Vetting a Vice President
Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain carries a football given to him by students during a town hall meeting at his alma mater, Episcopal High School, in Alexandria, Virginia, April 1, 2008.
Presumed GOP Presidential nominee and Senator John McCain has initiated the selection process for his Vice President.
Sen. John McCain said Wednesday he has begun “getting together a list of names” to choose a vice presidential running mate, and hopes to make an announcement before the Republican convention in early September.
“I’d like to get it done as early as possible. I’m aware of enhanced importance of this issue given my age,” said the Arizona senator, 71.
McCain wrapped up the Republican presidential nomination a month ago.
Interviewed by radio talk show host Don Imus, McCain did not offer any details of his search for a running mate.
“We just started this process of getting together a list of names and having them looked at,” he said.
“If I had a personal preference I’d like to do it before the convention to avoid some of the mistakes that I’ve seen made in the past as you get into a time crunch and maybe sometimes don’t make the announcement right or maybe they have not examined every single candidate.”
McCain is smart to begin the process early rather than later. Team McCain can “LEAK” a name a week and have the press and public vet them.
Flap’s best guesses:
Both of these candidates are McCain loyalists who are young, articulate and will appeal in the general election race.

Tony Strickland Watch: The Website Flap?
Why is Simi Valley, Royal High School, World History teacher Brian Dennert trying to PUNK former GOP Assemblyman Tony Strickland’s California State Senate Website Volunteer form?
Tony Strickland’s website for his State Senate ( CA 19, currently Tom McClintock R someplace not here ) run is up.
Make sure to sign up for his campaign updates.
Maybe see how silly of a name he will accept. Try Jack Abramoff, Barack Obama, John McCain, Karl Marx, Hannah Beth Jackson and Jim Dantona.
If he sends a releases to your funny name post it here.
Oh, an April Fool’s joke, you say.
Or is it that Dennert is a partisan Democrat using a Ventura County newspaper blog to denigrate a GOP candidate?
One wonders………..
Flap anticipates that in this hotly contested California Senate race the fireworks are yet to REALLY begin.

Maybe these are the same reporters who say that John McCain wants a 100 year war in Iraq. Well, that was debunked so they can continue on the America has lost theme.
