DNC Denver Host Committee Short on Cash
Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., waves to the overflow crowd as she walks with campaign aide Huma Abedin, right, and a secret service agent at a campaign event in Huron, S.D., Thursday, May 29, 2008. Clinton is campaigning in the state in anticipation of the June 3rd South Dakota presidential primary election.
Flap can’t help but think the reason why Barack Obama has NOT agreed to pay off Hillary’s campaign debts (rumored by some to be over $30 million) is because he would decimate his own fundraising accounts AND the DNC would not be able to backfill him because they are out of money.
Millions of dollars behind in raising money and unlikely to meet a fast-approaching final deadline, the Denver committee hosting the Democratic National Convention is considering spending cuts.
Committee sources say they are working with the Democratic National Convention Committee to consider lowering the $55 million in private cash and donated services that must be raised to bring the convention to town. The cuts would be made to the many parties the host committee is obligated to throw for the delegations and the news media, and other hospitality functions not tied to production aspects inside the convention hall.
Howard Dean had done GREAT JOB in fundraising for the Democrat National Committee – NOT. And, so now Hillary goes on her merry way to beat up on Obama over and over again until the Denver Convention because Obama cannot afford to help pay her off.
Maybe Obam will have to change his mind again and accept public financing for his general election campaign – just to get rid of the Clintons.
Stay tuned…..

Father Michael Pfleger Hammered by Chicago Cardinal Francis George
Pope Benedict XVI addresses the bishops at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington on the first full day of his visit to the United States April 16, 2008. At right is Chicago’s Cardinal Francis George, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. At left is the Vatican’s secretary of state, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone.
Cardinal Francis George of the Archdiocese of Chicago has HAMMERED Father Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina’s Catholic Church on the South Side of Chicago over his comments at Trinity United Church of Christ this past Sunday.
“The Catholic Church does not endorse political candidates. Consequently, while a priest must speak to political issues that are also moral, he may not endorse candidates nor engage in partisan campaigning.
“Racial issues are both political and moral and are also highly charged. Words can be differently interpreted, but Fr. Pfleger’s remarks about Senator Clinton are both partisan and amount to a personal attack. I regret that deeply.
“To avoid months of turmoil in the church, Fr. Pfleger has promised me that he will not enter into campaigning, will not publicly mention any candidate by name and will abide by the discipline common to all catholic priests.”
The video of Father Pfleger has gone viral on cable television and the internet.
Father Michael Pfleger preaching at Barack Obama’s church, Trinity United, May 25, 2008
The Clinton Campaign had the following response to Father Pfleger.
The Clinton campaign’s communications director, Howard Wolfson, clearly thinks Obama’s rejection of Father Pfleger’s sermon was lacking.
Wolfson says: “Divisive and hateful language like that is totally counterproductive in our efforts to bring our party together and have no place at the pulpit or in our politics. We are disappointed that Senator Obama didn’t specifically reject Father’s Pflegler’s despicable comments about Senator Clinton, and assume he will do so.”
Senator John McCain campaigning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in a media stop when asked about those comments of Father Pfleger said the following:
“…I have known Senator Clinton for a long time. I have always treated her with respect. She is a person that we have very different positions on alot of issues and a philosophy and I respect her. But, that kind of language and that kind of treatment of Senator Clinton is unwarranted, uncalled for and disgraceful.”
This flap with Father Pfleger is NOT going away.
Back over to Obama for a complete repudiation. Another Pastor and another “throw him under the bus.”

Ron Paul Watch: Speaking at Minnesota GOP Convention?
Alvin Holter of Crystal, Minn., adjusts a Ron Paul for President campaign sign a short distance from where Republican presidential hopeful Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas was speaking, Friday, May 30, 2008, outside the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minn
Flap says let Ron Paul speak without preconditions.
Ron Carey, chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota, said the only way Ron Paul can address the state convention is if he ends his candidacy and endorses John McCain.
“Rep. Paul waged a very credible battle here, but the battle is over and it’s time to coalesce around Sen. McCain and enhance our chances of prevailing in November,” Carey said. “There’s no benefit for Republicans to continue on with a battle after the battle has been fought and a victor has been declared.”
The GOP should be a party where ideas are debated, accepted and rejected.
Ron Paul will NEVER endorse McCain and many of Paul’s supporters will NEVER vote for ANY Republican nominee but the free discussion of their ideas is beneficial to the party.
Also, it will be McCain’s call but what about the Minnesota National GOP Convention? Flap gives it a thumbs up.
Flap says Rudy Giuliani should speak directly following Paul. What a contrast.

Barack Obama Watch: Meeting Ahmadinejad
Barack Obama at the You Tube Democrat debate, July 23, 2007
In the furor yesterday over Barack Obama’s LATEST Pastor problem with Father Michael Pfleger, the changing of Obama’s position on meeting with Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad without preconditions may have been missed.
Last July this is what Barack Obama said:
“Would you be willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?†asked Stephen Sixta, a video producer who submitted the question for the CNN/YouTube Democratic debate.
Mr. Obama, the first candidate to respond, answered, “I would.â€
But, Obama has taken heat for his comment. Hillary Clinton has criticized him, as have Jewish groups, the GOP and Senator John McCain.
And, like the Flag Pin controversy, the Iraq War trip, Obama finesses his way out of bad policy.
In the debate, Obama said “I would.”
Today he says:
“he would reserve the right to choose which leaders he would meet, should he choose to meet with them at all.”
Senator, what has changed?

Maxine Waters is a long time Democrat Congresswoman from the Los Angeles area of Southern California and has been an embarrASSment for years. She is far left and usually runs with little competition in her safe, California Democrat gerrymandered, African American based district.
“This liberal will be all about socializing, uh, uh … would be about … basically taking over and the government running all of your companies,” Rep. Maxine Waters told oil executives on May 22 during yet another show-trial congressional hearing.
The same government that manages Medicare, Social Security, the Veterans Administration, FEMA, etc. etc. you want managing the oil and gas distribution in this country?
Uh, NO THANKS.
