Breaking: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama Meet in DC

    *****Update*****

Fox News has a news crew outside Hillary Clinton’s Washington D.C. home and says she is inside and Barack Obama is NOT.

    Are they meeting somewhere else?

    ****Update #2*****

Fox News is reporting that they are meeting at 10:15 PM EDT at an undisclosed location

    *****Update #3*****

Marc Ambinder has the poop on the meeting.

Matt Drudge has the headline up and the link:Clinton, Obama meet privately in Washington.

Hillary Rodham Clinton met late Thursday with Barack Obama, a day after saying she would end her quest for the Democratic nomination and endorse the Illinois senator.

A senior Obama campaign official confirmed that Obama delayed his departure from Washington Thursday night to meet with Clinton at her home here.

Earlier, Clinton had disavowed efforts by some supporters who have urged Obama to choose her as his running mate.

The price to end Hillary’s campaign is to PAY her campaign debts. Otherwise, she will LINGER and HOVER, NOT release her delegates and wait for an Obama GAFFE.

    Stay tuned……

  • Daily Kos,  Joe Biden,  John McCain,  President 2008

    John McCain’s Teeth

Daily Kos screen capture courtesy of LGF

Notwithstanding the fact that John McCain was tortured and lost many teeth during his Vietnam POW captivity, but John McCain is 71 years old.

Should Markos want McCain to have the teeth of a 30 year old? Then, the low class POS Kos would criticize him for wasting his money on a “fountain of youth” strategy to cover up his age.

Flap has many dental patients who prefer to allow their smiles to age to show their “natural” character. I suppose it is the same with hair color. Some prefer to dye their hair or not as some prefer to bleach their teeth or whiten them with porcelain veneers.

Now, what this has to do with ANYTHING in the Presidential race is beyond Flap unless American voters are selecting the President with the most photogenic PHONY smile.

And, we all know who wins this contest:

    Joe Biden

  • Barack Obama,  Harry Reid,  Joe Lieberman

Will Joe Lieberman Caucus with the GOP?

Barack Obama has some stern words for Joe Lieberman, leading him off the Senate floor

After publicly being taken to the woodshed by presumptive Democrat Presidential nominee Barack Obama on the floor of the U.S. Senate yesterday, it is NOW reported that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid also had words with Joe Lieberman, the Independent, former Democrat Senator from Connecticut.

In addition to the talking-to that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, gave Sen. Joe Lieberman, Ind-Conn., yesterday for his role as a supporter of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the Senate Majority leader chatted last night with the Connecticut senator, who caucuses with the Democrats but has endorsed McCain.

Reid told reporters today, per ABC News’ Z. Byron Wolf, that “I’ve had conversations with Lieberman at some length. I’m not going to discuss the conversations here. But I think the discussions he had with Obama yesterday and the discussions he had with me yesterday were fruitful. We’ll let the future decide what it’s going to be, but I’m not about to threaten anybody.”

Lieberman should tell Obama, Reid, Durbin and the rest of those clowns in the Senate to “go to hell.” Joe was elected as an Independent after the Democrat LEFT pushed Ned Lamont to a win in the Connecticut Democrat primary.

Harry Reid continues to be Lieberman’s BITCH for now but with the Democrats on track to add more Senate seats this November, Joe might as well leave NOW rather than be pushed out later.

Watch Joe Lieberman switch caucus sides in the immediate future.

  • John McCain,  Mitt Romney,  President 2008

Why John McCain Picks Mitt Romney as Vice President

Senator John McCain and presumptive GOP nominee for President and Mitt Romney, former Governor of Massachusetts

Why will John McCain choose Mitt Romney as Vice President?

Look at today’s Electoral College Map:

    Graphic courtesy of Electoral-Vote.com

What states does John McCain need to wrest away from Barack Obama?

    • Ohio which is adjacent to Michigan which is a “native son” state for Mitt Romney. Romney grew up there and his father was the long time Governor.
    • New Mexico – a swing state adjacent to Utah where Romney saved the winter Olympics
    • New Hampshire – adjacent to Massachusetts where Romney was Governor and where McCain is popular

The number of electoral vote change would be McCain plus 38 changing the above projection to

    • McCain – 265
    • Obama – 249

McCain goes over the magic 270 electoral vote majority by capturing Indiana – 11 electoral votes or Virginia – 13 electoral votes.

And, what states MUST John McCain hold:

    • Michigan – Mitt Romney’s “favorite son” state where Romney won the GOP primary election

There is no love lost between John McCain and Mitt Romney but at this point in the campaign Romney is a net POSITIVE for the GOP.

Romney will NOT hurt MCCain who MUST run as a moderate Republican (which he is) against the radical LEFT Obama and WILL help McCain in states where he needs it.

Look for more events featuring Mitt Romney as an economic surrogate for Team McCain. If Romney polls well in the battleground states above, McCain may have no choice but to name Mitt as his Vice President.

    Stay tuned…….

Barack Obama Watch: The Real Vice President?

Is Team Obama “FIGHTING OFF” the Clintons for payment of their campaign debt by channeling Senator James Webb for Vice President?

Another way to stop the Hillary-for-Veep speculation: Fire up some other speculation.

And so Obama announced this morning that he’d be campaigning in Virginia with Senator Jim Webb and former Governor Mark Warner.

Senator Webb has been touted as the Vice Presidential candidate who best augments the lack of military experience of Obama, comes from a possible pick-up state in the Electoral College, Virginia, and is a former Reagan Republican.

Flap thinks Webb is in the running and look at what Intrade says this morning:

Intrade on Obama Democrat Vice President

As of this morning, Webb’s stock is up and Hillary’s is down. Obama has to balance the loss of white working class women who are pissed at him for beating Hillary with bolstering his foreign policy and military credentials.

An Evan Bayh from Indiana would be a “SAFE” choice.

Hillary Clinton Watch: Leaving the Race But Parsing the Words

    Hillary Clinton

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., waves as she leaves the stage after speaking to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in Washington

It appears that Hillary Clinton will be withdrawing or pulling out of her candidacy for the Presidency on Saturday.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is likely to suspend her presidential campaign on Saturday and endorse Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee, according to informed sources, after a day in which many of her key supporters and party leaders encouraged the senator from New York to make a quick decision in the interest of party unity.

The Clinton campaign issued a statement late yesterday that did not officially confirm her decision but said Clinton would hold an event in Washington “to thank her supporters and express her support for Senator Obama and party unity.” The event was originally scheduled for tomorrow, but in a subsequent release her campaign announced that it would be moved to Saturday “to accommodate more of Senator Clinton’s supporters who want to attend.”

But, nothing is final until Saturday and Flap knows there are ongoing negotiations about Hillary’s campaign debt and how it will be disposed.

Obama and the Democrat Party hacks like Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid want Hillary and Bill gone. However, depending upon how Hillary parses the words on Saturday she may or may not be.

A note on terminology: some news outlets will report that Clinton will “suspend” her campaign; others may report that she will “concede” to Obama; other will report that she is “dropping out.”

It’s ok to use “dropping out.”

She doesn’t officially lose her delegates until they vote for someone else at the convention, so she could always jump back in. There’s no paper you sign that magically waives away your delegates, and there will be plenty of them, I’d bet, who, if you ask them next week, insist they’ll vote for Hillary.

Hillary will use the word “SUSPEND” and not finalize ANYTHING. There is a level of mistrust on either side and until Obama finalizes a “DEAL” to pay her back and the money is received, Bill will insist that Hillary keep her powder dry. The Clinton donors will insist on this as well.

Should Obama falter, make a huge GAFFE or another damaging detail comes out about his past, Hillary will be there to take over the mantle. Remember she has amassed a huge number of committed delegates.

So, is Hillary’s campaign REALLY Over?

No – not until the Denver Convention and Obama is annointed.
