John McCain Watch: Obama Should Cut Wesley Clark Loose
Gen. Wes Clark interview on Fact the Nation Sunday June 29, 2008John McCain this evening in route to Columbia has escalated the Wesley Clark FLAP to a higher level. McCain has told Barack Obama that he should “cut him loose.”Sen. John McCain appeared to raise the stakes in the ongoing back-and-forth over Wesley Clark’s controversial comments, saying Tuesday evening that Barack Obama should “cut him loose.”
Speaking to reporters on his press plane en route to Colombia, McCain suggested it’s time for the Illinois senator to completely sever ties with the former general and onetime presidential candidate
“I think it’s up to Senator Obama now to not only repudiate him but cut him loose.”
The comments last Sunday and reiterated today on ABC’sGood Morning America are bull shit and McCain has the right to call Obama and Clark out.
Obama has not been pressed to absolutely repudiate Wesley Clark and may be afraid to do so since the LEFT has been applauding Clark’s comments.
But, just like the Jeremiah Wright flap this will NOT go away until Obama yet again throws a supporter under the bus.
Now, who will be the next Democrat lackey to attack McCain’s military record. Senators James Webb, Jay Rockefeller and George McGovern have already been used up.
Again, highlighting the fact that Barack Obama has NO military experience.

John McCain Watch: The 8th Attack on Military Record – James Webb Edition Pushback
Senators Barack Obama and James Webb
Team McCain is pushing back on the Senator James Webb attack on the McCain military record last night on MSNBC.McCain spokesperson Brian Rogers:
“If you didn’t think this was a coordinated attack on John McCain’s credentials before, it’s clear now that it is. Barack Obama’s surrogates are telling the McCain campaign to “calm down” about attacks on his military record? Seriously? Now somehow Wes Clark’s attacks are John McCain’s fault? It’s absurd. If Barack Obama can’t control his own surrogate operation, how can he be trusted to run the country?”
Greg Sargent et. al. from the LEFT may believe that this eighth attack of the McCain military record is not a concerted and organized effort to impugn McCain but the record is clear. And Webb’s apologies from a spokesperson are ridiculously predictable.
Who will be the next hit and run Democrat lackey to go after McCain’s military record? Jay Rockefeller and George McGovern have already been used.
All of this discussion about McCain’s military and war record highlights the fact that Barack Obama has NO military experience.

The Case of Dr. Roy S. Shelburne – 7 of 10 Counts Thrown Out of Court
Dr. Roy S Shelburne and dental student (VCU) son Ross
In a shocking reversal of fortune, Virginia dentist, Dr. Roy S. Shelburne had seven of his ten jury convictions for money laundering vacated today. In a stunning decision, a federal judge today vacated all seven jury convictions of a Pennington Gap, Va., dentist for money laundering.
James P. Jones, chief judge for the Western District of Virginia, upheld three convictions of Roy Shelburne for racketeering, structuring a financial transaction and defrauding Medicaid.
Jones’ opinion filed today pointedly rejected the government’s construction of the money laundering statute, which the U.S. Supreme Court interpreted last month, and highlighted the complexity of the case by setting aside seven of the jury’s convictions.
Dr. Shelburne will be sentenced on the remaining three convictions on July 10. Obviously a United States Supreme Court decision on June 2nd affected the law in this case.
Stay tuned…..

Barack Obama Supports California Gay/Same Sex Marriage
Barack Obama Pro- Gay political brochure
In a policy reversal Barack Obama has come out against The Limit on Marriage Constitutional Amendment, Proposition 8 which will be on California’s November Presidential ballot.Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, who previously said the issue of gay marriage should be left up to each state, has announced his opposition to a California ballot measure that would ban same-sex marriages.
In a letter to the Alice B. Toklas LGBT Democratic Club read Sunday at the group’s annual Pride Breakfast in San Francisco, the Illinois senator said he supports extending “fully equal rights and benefits to same-sex couples under both state and federal law.”
“And that is why I oppose the divisive and discriminatory efforts to amend the California Constitution, and similar efforts to amend the U.S. Constitution or those of other states,” Obama wrote.
Obama had previously said he opposes same-sex marriage but that each state should make its own decision.
John McCain last week endorsed Proposition 8.
So, what does this mean in California?
Probably not much in the Presidential contest since California is a blue state where Obama should win handily. But, this may affect down Presidential ticket races like the Tony Strickland vs. Hannah-Beth Jackson California State Senate race. Strickland supports the constitutional ban on gay marriage and Jackson opposes it and favors gay marriage.
A direct contrast between Obama and McCain on the gay marriage issue will drive more evangelical and other Christian groups to the polls. Also, it will aid the GOP and the Strickland campaign in fundraising.
Flap is positive that the California Democrat Party would have desired Obama to stay out of this gay marriage fray. But, now that he has weighed in AND flip-flopped his position they will have to defend it.
Advantage GOP.

John McCain Watch: The 8th Attack on Military Record – James Webb Edition
Senators Barack Obama and James Webb
Flap wrote yesterday about the seemingly OVERT concerted effort by Democrats over time to impugn the military and war record of John McCain. Jim Geraghty over at National Review had a summary of the seven previous attacks:After statements by a half-dozen high-profile Democrats and Obama surrogates, you cannot persuade me that there is not a concerted effort on the part of Obama Democrats to criticize McCain on his war record. George McGovern, Jay Rockefeller, Tom Harkin, Democratic congressional candidate Bill Gillespie, Ed Schultz, Tony McPeak, and now Clark. Way too many to be coincidence. We’re seeing a lot more derisive comments about McCain’s wartime service than we are about Obama’s race.
Well, make Senator John Webb’s attack last night on the Obie-One show the 8th attack.
Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) waded into the debate over John McCain’s military service Monday to say that the Republican should avoid using military service in politics.
“I think what we really need to work on over the next four, five months, and it goes back to the speech that Sen. Obama gave [Monday] and this little fight that I’ve been watching and that is, we need to make sure that we take politics out of service,” Webb said. “People don’t serve their country for political issues.”
He continued: “And John McCain’s my long-time friend, if that is one area that I would ask him to calm down on, it`s that, don’t be standing up and uttering your political views and implying that all the people in the military support them because they don’t, any more than when the Democrats have political issues during the Vietnam War. Let’s get the politics out of the military, take care of our military people, or have our political arguments in other areas.”
Excuse me Senator, but it was General Wesley Clark that started up the military discussion and impugning again. As did George McGovern and Senator Jay Rockefeller did before.
And, may I remind you that your good friend, Senator Obama, has had NO MILITARY SERVICE for the United States. And, true to form, Senator Webb after these comments has now apologized through an office spokesperson.
Webb’s office e-mailed the Briefing Room a response to critics who have argued that Webb is criticizing McCain’s military service.
“Senator Webb has never, and would never, demean the service of anyone who has stepped forward to serve our country. To the contrary, he was calling on those on all sides of the debate to refrain from implying that their political views are representative of the military writ large,” wrote Webb’s press secretary, Kimberly Hunter.
She stressed that Webb, the former Secretary of the Navy, has consistently argued against the injection of politics into military service by anyone.
Anyone seeing a pattern here – after the 8th fraking attack?
Flap is amazed that the MSM is not pressing on Obama to repudiate former General Wesley Clark and fire him from his campaign.
But, they won’t.
The eighth Democrat attack impugning John McCain and nobody from a major news organization says a damn thing. McCain plays defense and figures it won’t stick. The MSM doesn’t give a damn that the Democrats are flat out lying and playing an orchestrated SMEAR game.
The little “unhidden secret” though is everytime McCain IS attacked American voters will be reminded that Barack Obama lacks ANY military experience or service.

Iran Nuclear Watch: The Two Red Lines; Update: Israel is Bluffing?
*****Scroll Down for Update*****Iran’s overt nuclear installations
Senior United States military officials are concerned that Israel will soon lead an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities beofre the end of 2008.A senior defense official told ABC News there is an “increasing likelihood” that Israel will carry out such an attack, a move that likely would prompt Iranian retaliation against, not just Israel, but against the United States as well.
The official identified two “red lines” that could trigger an Israeli offensive. The first is tied to when Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility produces enough highly enriched uranium to make a nuclear weapon. According to the latest U.S. and Israeli intelligence assessments, that is likely to happen sometime in 2009, and could happen by the end of this year.
“The red line is not when they get to that point, but before they get to that point,” the official said. “We are in the window of vulnerability.”
The second red line is connected to when Iran acquires the SA-20 air defense system it is buying from Russia. The Israelis may want to strike before that system — which would make an attack much more difficult — is put in place.
Some Pentagon officials also worry that Israel may be determined to attack before a new U.S. president, who may be less supportive, is sworn in next January.
Well, no shit Sherlock.
President Bush, the United Nations and the European Union haven’t done anything to stop the Iranian Mullahs from acquiring nuclear weapons. The justifications for obtaining them are already floating around the blogs – “well. Israel has nukes, why shouldn’t Iran?”
So, Israel has a REAL concern that the mad men of Tehran could soon achieve a method for a second HOLOCAUST.
The United States and the rest of the world economies will be crippled while Israel and the United States neuter Iran. Americans will have to sacrifice. There will be a shortage of gasoline and oil based products.
But, not for long.
Update:
Is Israel’s threat to Iran a bluff?
Israel seems content to keep Iran and the rest of the world guessing uneasily about whether and when it might attack the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities.
It has done little to douse speculation stoked by a big Israeli air force exercise last month, an Israeli cabinet minister’s remark that military action was “inevitable” and a prediction by former U.S. official John Bolton that this might occur in the final weeks of President George W. Bush’s term.
Israel is NOT going to wait around until Iran possesses Breakout Capability for their nuclear weapons program.
Whenever the Breakout Capability is imminent or the two red lines are crossed Israel will act – alone if need be.
By this fall?
Possible…..

Day By Day by Chris Muir July 1, 2008
Day By Day by Chris MuirGoogle and the Blogger platofrm definitely have egg on its face for their treatment of the anti-Obama blogs. But, do they have a valid “EXCUSE” for their incompetence?A “kerfuffle” over the blocking of some blogs by Google — all of them “anti-Obama” — seems to be mostly over. The blogs have been unblocked and Simon Owens at Bloggasm, who had followed the developments, says that those who suspected a conspiracy led by supporters of Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama to shut down blogs critical of their man “might be feeling a little silly right now.” Google’s explanation for the blockings is that it’s spam filters mistakenly got tripped.
Google owned Blogger’s explanation is here:
Hi there,
On behalf of the Blogger Team, I want to apologize for the recent trouble you’ve had with your locked blog. Automated spam detection is not yet a perfect science, and although we are constantly working to improve our tools, it appears that our filters have caused some Blogger accounts to mistakenly be blocked from creating new posts. While we are still investigating, we believe this may have been caused by mass spam e-mails mentioning the “Just Say No Deal†network of blogs, which in turn caused our system to classify the blog addresses mentioned in the e-mails as spam.
Regardless, we have restored posting rights to your blog, and it is very important to us that Blogger remain a tool for political debate and free expression.
So once again, we apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience as we looked into the problem.
Sincerely,
The Blogger TeamFlap loathes censorship and disruptions. And, I moved to my own blog hosting over three years ago so that I could be the master of my own blog destiny.
If bloggers want a “FREE” platform then they need to remember that there is no free lunch.
The will need to move their blog.
