John Edwards Watch: Mistress-Love Child Flap Acknowledged By MSM?
John Edwards and his mistress-love child flap
Mickey Kaus again is on top of the story about John Edwards, his alleged mistress and former videographer Rielle Hunter and his alleged love child, Frances Quinn Hunter.Dissent in the MSM: Rebellious nibbling from mid-rank players who are harder to coopt than the New York and Washington elites…..
It was only three weeks ago that John Edwards was fielding media questions on his chances of filling the Democratic Party’s vice presidential slot on Barack Obama’s ticket or a potential Cabinet position in an Obama administration.
On Wednesday, however, the former U.S. senator and 2004 vice presidential nominee was eager to duck the press when the questions took a tabloid turn.
About a dozen reporters and photojournalists attended a speech Edwards gave to an AARP Foundation symposium on poverty and aging in Washington. Afterward, he avoided most of the waiting reporters, at least some of whom wanted to question him about recent reports in the National Enquirer that alleged an inappropriate relationship with a former campaign videographer.
John Edwards, should he ever wish to resume his political career will have to answer some questions about the National Enquirer piece. Some basics will suffice:
- Is John Edwards the father of Frances Quinn Hunter?
- Why was Edwards in the Beverly Hilton Hotel at this time in the morning and why did he hide from reporters in the bathroom?
But, if he continues to duck the press, “say good night, Gracie” to any appointment to an Obama Administration or any future Democrat Party post.
Flap says Edwards easiest recourse is to check into rehab and claim substance abuse or sex addiction.
Isn’t this what all the CELEBS do? Especially the ones sporting the $400 haircuts?

Barack Obama Playing the Race Card Against John McCain?
+++++Update+++++
The McCain campaign is now accusing Barack Obama of “playing the race card.”
Obama “played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck,” McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said in a statement. He called Obama’s remarks “divisive, negative, shameful and wrong.”
Barack Obama: ” ‘Well, you know, he’s got a funny name and he doesn’t look like all the presidents on the dollar bills and the five dollar bills…”
Barack Obama, stalled in the polls after his foreign “coronation” tour, now is “playing the race card” against John McCain. The quotes from Obama:
- “John McCain right now, he’s spending an awful lot of time talking about me,” Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said today in Rolla, Mo. “You notice that? I haven’t seen an ad yet where he talks about what he’s gonna do. And the reason is because those folks know they don’t have any good answers, they know they’ve had their turn over the last eight years and made a mess of things. They know that you’re not real happy with them.”
- “And so the only way they figure they’re going to win this election is if they make you scared of me. So what they’re saying is, ‘Well, we know we’re not very good but you can’t risk electing Obama. You know, he’s new, he’s… doesn’t look like the other presidents on the currency, you know, he’s got a, he’s got a funny name.’
- “I mean, that’s basically the argument — he’s too risky,” Obama said, per ABC News’ Sunlen Miller. “But think about it, what’s the bigger risk? Us deciding that we’re going to come together to bring about real change in America or continuing to do same things with the same folks in the same ways that we know have not worked? I mean, are we really going to do the same stuff that we’ve been doing over the last eight years? … That’s a risk we cannot afford. The stakes are too high.”
And, there are more quotes from Obama:
- “John McCain and the Republicans, they don’t have any new ideas, that’s why they’re spending all their time talking about me. I mean, you haven’t heard a positive thing out of that campaign in … in a month. All they do is try to run me down and you know, you know this in your own life. If somebody doesn’t have anything nice to say about anybody, that means they’ve got some problems of their own. So they know they’ve got no new ideas, they know they’re dredging up all the stale old stuff they’ve been peddling for the last eight, 10 years.
- “But, since they don’t have any new ideas the only strategy they’ve got in this election is to try to scare you about me. They’re going to try to say that I’m a risky guy, they’re going to try to say, ‘Well, you know, he’s got a funny name and he doesn’t look like all the presidents on the dollar bills and the five dollar bills and, and they’re going to send out nasty emails.
- “And, you know, the latest one they’ve got me in an ad with Paris Hilton,” Obama said, referring to a McCain campaign ad launched today. “You know, never met the woman. But, but, you know, what they’re gonna try to argue is that somehow I’m too risky.”(Emphasis Flap’s)
Sound like a racist, xenophobic WHINE to Flap. I mean how dare Team McCain contrast their positions or question the “Obamessiahs” celebrity status.
Remember Obama – He is the ONE.
Obama continues to reinforce the theme – Obama is an average pol, inexperienced and NOT ready for prime time. And, now a whiner about race when the campaign does not break his way or McCain criticizes him.
But, McCain a racist?
Uh, NO.
Update:
This just in – Obama spokesman says that Obama was NOT playing the race card.
“What Barack Obama was talking about was that he didn’t get here after spending decades in Washington. There is nothing more to this than the fact that he was describing that he was new to the political scene. He was referring to the fact that he didn’t come into the race with the history of others. It is not about race.”
Yeah, right…..
