Sarah Palin Watch: Florida Democrats Slam Palin As Dangerous Right-Winger
From the Press Release e-mailed from a little bird:
Dear Friends,
John McCain rolled the dice with his VP pick today – in an attempt to woo women voters. But we cannot gamble with women’s lives.
Don’t let your friends, family and co-workers be fooled: Alaskan Sarah Palin is a dangerous right-winger who lacks the judgment to lead.
In 2000, Palin endorsed Pat Buchanan for President. Yes, that Pat Buchanan.
In 2006, Palin ran for Alaska Governor on a message of change – and then turned out to be just another corrupt Alaska politician who’s now under investigation in her own state.
She’s no Hillary Clinton. She’s Dan Quayle in a dress.
Women voters who care about equal rights, choice, family and other issues, will not see a partner in Palin.
Help us fight for these issues by electing Democrats up and down the ticket. Click here to donate today:

She is lockstep with Bush and McCain on issues important to women. Every one of them. That’s scary.
The corrupt trio of Ted Stevens, Don Young, and Lisa Murkowski all raised campaign money for Palin.
John McCain claimed that Barack Obama lacked experience. Then he picked a VP who has just 20 months at the helm of a state with a population smaller than the city of Jacksonville, and zero foreign policy experience. Palin would be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Barack Obama is ready to lead. Last night he showed us what the next American President will look like. He and Joe Biden will deliver change we need.
The stakes are too high to risk another four years of the same. If you have $25, $50 or $100 to spare, please contribute today to the Florida Democratic Party’s campaign to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. We’re on the verge of major change in Florida, but we need your help.
Sincerely,
Congresswoman Karen L. Thurman
Chair, Florida Democratic Party

First, I never remember Pat Buchanan bombing the United States Capitol or saying God Damn America, now did he?
And, besides, Flap was a Team Buchanan member in 1992 and running for President in the GOP.
The Florida Democrats think what about Tony Rezko, a convicted federal felon raising money for Obama?
Stay tuned……

John McCain Watch: Obama Attacks Sarah Palin
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain at Ohio announcement rally of the McCain-Palin Republican ticket for President and Vice President
Team Obama has been mocking and belittling Alaska Governor Sarah Palin ever since John McCain named her as his Vice Presidential running mate.First, after spending the entire campaign talking about how experience isn’t everything, Barack Obama, who’s never held a full-time job for four years, cannot start hitting her on inexperience.
Rove just called the response “petty and small,” and boy, this is going to just further convince the Pumas that sexism drives the Obama campaign.
A stupid move.
Here is the Team McCain response:
“It is pretty audacious for the Obama campaign to say that Governor Palin is not qualified to be Vice President. She has a record of accomplishment that Senator Obama simply cannot match. Governor Palin has spent her time in office shaking up government in Alaska and actually achieving results — whether it’s taking on corruption, passing ethics reform or stopping wasteful spending and the ‘bridge to nowhere.’ Senator Obama has spent his time in office running for President.†—Jill Hazelbaker, McCain Communications Director

Sarah Palin Selected As John McCain’s Vice Presidential Running Mate
It is Sarah Palin, the Governor of Alaska.
See Flap’s posts on Sarah Palin here. The official Team McCain press release.
U.S. Senator John McCain today announced that he has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate and to serve as his vice president.
Governor Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president. She has brought Republicans and Democrats together within her Administration and has a record of delivering on the change and reform that we need in Washington.
Governor Palin has challenged the influence of the big oil companies while fighting for the development of new energy resources. She leads a state that matters to every one of us — Alaska has significant energy resources and she has been a leader in the fight to make America energy independent.

The station, WGN, has made a stream of the broadcast available online, here, and it has to be heard to be believed. Obama’s robotic legions dutifully jammed the station’s phone lines and inundated the program with emails, attacking Kurtz personally. Pressed by Rosenberg to specify what inaccuracies Kurtz was guilty of, caller after caller demurred, mulishly railing that “we just want it to stop,†and that criticism of Obama was “just not what we want to hear as Americans.†Remarkably, as Obama sympathizers raced through their script, they echoed the campaign’s insistence that it was Rosenberg who was “lowering the standards of political discourse†by having Kurtz on, rather than the campaign by shouting him down.

The McCain campaign Wednesday released a memo mockingly titled, “Proper Attire for the Temple of Obama (The Barackopolis),†a reference to the classical stage design in place for his speech. John McCain Watch: Is it Romney?
+++++Update+++++
Romney Family Gets Security SweepFox News exclusively confirms that John McCain has finalized his choice for Vice President and notes that both Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty have cleared their schedules
Senator John McCain and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney
Matt Drudge has a poll up on his main page and Romney is beating second place Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison almost three to 1. Tim Pawlenty is in fourth place behind a dark horse candidate selection. On Intrade, Mitt Romney is leading Tim Pawlenty 62.2 to 20.0 up 17 points. Tom Ridge is in third place.
So, will Mitt Romney be the GOP Vice Presidential selection?
Conventional wisdom says yes but Flap can feel the deflation out of the GOP if McCain chooses him. Americans want different this election season and Mitt Romney along with McCain will assure an Obama-Biden win in November.
The GOP desperately needs to attract independent and women voters and with that……
Flap’s picks:
!. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin
2. Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
3. Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty
4. Lousiana Governor Bobby Jindal
Update:
Ambinder says McCain keeps mentioning former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge this morning. A clue?

Barack Obama Denver Stage – OMG
The New York Post is right on this Greek/Roman comedy
Barack Obama will tonight formally accept the nomination of the Democrat Party for President at Invesco Field in Denver. But, in what is called a “classically-themed backdrop” with fireworks timed to be set off after Obama utters his last line of his speech, regular voters are aghast at the spectacular.
Here is another look at the stage:
Anyone think this will play in the working class neighborhoods of Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania?Guess EVEN some Dems are getting nervous about the setting.

John McCain Watch: Web Video “Remote Control” Slams Obama’s Unreadiness to Lead
“Remote Control”Team McCain released this web video last night while Flap was at the reirtement dinner. In it the McCainiacs use clips of former Deomcrat rivals, including Hillary Clinton to slam Barack Obama on his inexperience.
Key Graph:You know, I am a believer in … in knowing what you’re doing when you apply for a job. Uh, and I think that … if I were seriously to consider running on a national ticket, I would essentially have to start now, before having served a day in the Senate. Now there may be some people who are comfortable doing that, but I am not one of those people. — Barack Obama, 2004
The ad is a little on the longish side so it will be cut and broken into 30 second sound bites. Watch for parts of it to be on television throughout the fall.
