Barack Obama MOCKS John McCain’s Vietnam War Torture Injuries With Can’t Send an E-mail Ad

Barack Obama’s latest ATTACK television ad: “Still”

Flap had this video earlier today in a different context about Barack Obama’s new “take off the gloves” campaign make-over and then a reader drew my attention to this piece from Ed Morrissey.

Earlier today, Barack Obama’s campaign released an ad attacking John McCain for not knowing how to send an e-mail.  Their crack research team apparently never heard of Google or Lexis-Nexis, but Jonah Goldberg does.  He discovers why McCain doesn’t use a keyboard — his torturers made sure he couldn’t.  The Boston Globe reported it eight years ago:….McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes…

And, Jonah Goldberg has an excellent point about why this is another Obama GAFFE.

Lord knows I think the chicken-hawk arguments are stupid. And I don’t think the fact that Obama never served in the military should count against him in and of itself. But how stupid is it for the Obama campaign to claim that McCain is unqualified to be president because he can’t grasp cyber-security issues based on the fact he has never sent an email when the McCain campaign can just as easily say Obama can’t understand first order national security issues because he’s never fired a rife, flown a plane, commanded men in battle, or faced an enemy? I mean which prepares someone to be commander in chief better, hitting “send” on AOL or fighting a war?

This is extremely embarassing for the Barack Obama Campaign. Obama should pull the ad and offer an apology to John McCain.

Hillary Clinton Watch: Sarah Palin – “I Think He’s Regretting Not Picking Her Now….”

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama at last year’s Democrat Presidential debate in South Carolina

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin thinks Barack Obama now regrets not selecting Hillary Clinton as his Vice Presidential running mate.

“I think he’s regretting not picking her now, I do. What, what determination, and grit, and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way — she handled those well,” the Alaska governor told Charles Gibson in her third and final exclusive interview with ABC News.

    You think?

Obama had an opportunity to get the Clinton’s on board for this campaign by asking Hillary to join the ticket and to ACTUALLY pay off her personal campaign debts by having his donors give large.

Obama did neither and is sinking like a rock in the polls with white women voters.

John McCain Watch: Whoopi Channels Slavery

Whoopi Goldberg to John McCain: Do I have to worry about slavery again?

Whoopi Goldberg puts her foot into her mouth again on The View.

The ‘Busters have the transcript. This isn’t quite the offensive idiocy it might seem at first blush; she’s asking a (mostly) rhetorical question about constitutional theory to challenge McCain’s stance on Roe, i.e. whether following the Founders’ intent is such a hot idea given that their Enlightenment views weren’t quite fully enlightened. One possible answer: We can correct the Founders through the amendment process. That’s what we should have done to legalize abortion and that’s what we did to ban slavery. Or did you miss that lesson in first-grade history, Whoopi? McCain’s response: Hey, good point! Groan.

John McCain did not help himself well on this idiocy by Whoopi and should have made the case that the legislative branch of the government both federal and state is in charge of making the laws NOT the courts who trump up unwritten rules from some perceived constitutional duty or right such as the “right to privacy” in the case of abortion. But, he didn’t.

Flap is sure that when Sarah Palin goes on The View she will be hammered on Roe v. Wade but the answer will be better framed and the groans from Whoopi louder.

John McCain Watch: McCain Wins Presidency in Today’s Electoral College Polling

    electoralvote9122008

    Graphic from Electoral-Vote.Com

If the November 4th Presidential election were held today, John McCain would win the Presidency. All of the polling data for the above graphic is here.

Of course, the race is very fluid but this is the first time in weeks that McCain has led Obama in the Electoral College.

A few noteworthy poll events this morning:

Should Pennsylvania, Washington, and other barely Democrat states (58 electoral votes) start breaking for McCain the race will be over.

    But, stay tuned…….

Barack Obama Watch: The “Isotoner” Campaign

Barack Obama’s latest ATTACK television ad: “Still”

Jake Tapper ridicules the Barack Obama campaign for “taking off the goves” to attack and fight back against McCain-Palin.

Like any number of Democratic candidates before him — Mike Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry — Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, is once again declaring that he is going to take off the gloves and fight back against attacks from the Republican party.

ut just so you know — this is by my count the 4th time Obama’s campaign has officially or unofficially made such a declaration that Obama will “take off the gloves” and fight back.

That’s a lot of pairs of gloves.

The Isotoner campaign, one might say.

Barack Obama has been sinking in the polls and is becoming desperate. The pressure from the LEFT is pushing his campaign to produce stupid and personally offensive television ads like the one above. Painting John McCain as an old fuddy duddy in a contemptible way will not win you many friends with American voters.

The LEFT is complicit in this new Obama/Democrat line of attack. Look at this piece that ridicules women who attended a McCain-Palin rally. The condescending tone of the writer towards women who like Sarah Palin is especially noteworthy.

So, Flap says don’t stop, Barry. The radical LEFT has the solution for your faltering campaign – OFFEND MORE VOTERS.

    Good job!

    Update:

Even some on the LEFT are shaking their heads at Obama’s approach.

“Still” is really really weird. I just
don’t get the thinking behind it at all. Don’t they realize that there
are 83 million Americans in the non-line community? www.internetworldstats.com/…/us.htm And most of those are probably in downscale households they NEED to turn out?

    They’re insulting these people! Gratuitously!

(Unless, of course, it’s intended for online distribution only, in
which case it makes a certain amount of sense, but in that case, why
the Stand By Your Ad bit at the end?)

And, Ace of Spades agrees with Flap that this could be construed as an attack on seniors.

Isn’t that AGEISM from the elite snob Obama?

Day By Day by Chris Muir September 12, 2008 – “Word Weasels”

    Day By Day 091208

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Charlie Gibson with ABC News attempted to TRAP Sarah Palin on a number of leading and hypothetical questions but was unsuccessful.

    What will the LEFT do?

They will call upon their LEFT-WING and former Democrat Party operatives to write extensive Op-Ed pieces re-interpreting and re-inventing Palin’s words while expressing outrage of her candidacy.

Nobody except the media elites will care and Obama will continue to sink in the polls.

    ++++++++++

Please do not forget the Day By Day fundraiser. Please go to Chris Muir’s Main Page here and give what you can.

The Day By Day cartoon series WILL be Chris Muir’s full time job now – let’s help him off to a great start in his new career.

Flap will be giving and hopes all of my readers will give graciously so that Chris can continue his excellent cartoon series.
