Tony Strickland Extends Vote Lead in California State Senate Race
Former California Assembly Members Tony Strickland and Hannah-Beth Jackson and candidates for California State Senate District 19
According to Flap’s math Republican Tony Strickland has extended his lead to 1,560 votes versus 540 votes yesterday.
The raw figures:
Santa Barbara County (as of 4:32 PM today):
- Hannah-Beth Jackson: 69,829
- Tony Strickland: 56,522
Ventura County (as of 1:46 PM today):
- Hannah-Beth Jackson: 104,920
- Tony Strickland: 115,753
Los Angeles County (as of 4:49 PM yesterday)
- Hannah-Beth Jackson: 11,322
- Tony Strickland: 15,356
The Ventura County Star reports that Ventura County elections this afternoon added another 14,394 ballots to the results of last week’s election.
Ventura County has now counted 294,736 ballots, or about 88 percent of the those cast. The remaining 41,000 or so are absentee ballots that were handed in at the last minute, or provisional ballots, cast by voters whose registration status couldn’t be clearly determined on Election Day.
Because election officials don’t know where the uncounted ballots were cast, it’s impossible to know just how many votes are left up for grabs in each race. The county plans to release more results on Friday, but the final tally won’t be known until next week at the earliest.
Flap would rather be ahead by 1,500 votes than behind if this is any solace to Tony Strickland.
Stay tuned as Flap has absolutely no idea where the ballots are coming from or when the remaining ballots (late absentee and provisional) will be finally counted.
But, Flap will update as information becomes available.

I pray to the powers that be that Hannah-Beth Jackson wins the 19th district senate race. I am so sick of political puppets like Tony Strickland who lie about their “Green Endeavors”. He is a disgrace!
