Sarah Palin and SarahPAC Ethics Complaint Dismissed
Thomas Van Flein discusses the dismissal of an ethics complaint filed against Gov. Sarah Palin on the Eddie Burke radio program on May 8, 2009.Another Sarah Palin BS Alaska Ethics complaint has been dismissed today.
An attorney hired by the state personnel board has dismissed an ethics complaint claiming that Gov. Sarah Palin’s role in the political action committee SarahPAC poses a conflict with her official duties as governor.
“I find that the complaint does not allege facts which constitute a violation of the Ethics Act. Therefore an investigation is not warranted. Pursuant to my authority…the complaint is hereby dismissed,†independent counsel Thomas Daniel concluded today.
The complaint was brought by Anchorage resident Sondra Tompkins.
The complaint says the governor abdicated her governor duties at a critical time — the end of the legislative session, when she went to Indiana for two events, a Right to Life banquet and a breakfast for families with Down syndrome children.
“The recent partisan trip to Indiana by the Governor was purely to benefit personal interests, had no benefit for the State of Alaska and was in direct conflict with her official duties,” the complaint said.
Daniel, an Anchorage attorney, said that’s a political issue, not an ethical one.
“The governor’s decision to leave the state at the end of the legislative session, may have been unwise. But the voters should express their opinion on that subject at the ballot box – not in an ethics complaint,†he wrote.
Of course, the complaint was politically motivated and had nothing to do with good government, ethics or anything but partisanship.
It is interesting that the MSM is all over the place when one of these complaints is filed against the Alaska governor but seem to miss the dismissla part.
Maybe it is because Alaska is so far West for the Eastern time zone USA press?
Right…..

What Did Speaker Nancy Pelosi Know and When Did She Know it? Re: CIA Enhanced Interrogation Techniques and Waterboarding
The CIA confirms that Nancy Pelosi was briefed on Enhanced Interrogation Techniques in 2002.When President Obama first released the CIA memos about waterboarding and other CIA enhanced interrogation techniques to blame the Bush Administration for “TORTURE,” I relished the thought of Congressional hearings so the true story would come out.
Now, with the latest revelations, GOP Congressman Pete Hoekstra, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee is asking for the release of more CIA documents (like Vice President Cheney already has) and is considering calling for Congressional hearings on the matter.
Open public Congressional Hearings and placing Speaker Pelosi under oath to answer questions would be a good idea.
Want to bet President Obama now regrets placing his fellow Democrats in political peril and the whole “TORTURE FLAP” dies a quiet death?

Video: The Faces of Government Healthcare
Canadian physician Dr. Brian Day discusses the Canadian Socialized healthcare systemA new website is up: The Faces of Government Healthcare
Before Congress considers any form of government-run health care, they should hear the voices of patients denied care because the government deemed it too costly or delayed care because of long waiting lists for surgery or diagnostic tests.
Any serious discussion of health care reform that does not include choice, competition, accountability and responsibility — the four “pillars” of patients’ rights — will result in our government truly becoming a “nanny-state,” making decisions based on what is best for society and government rather than individuals deciding what is best for each of us.

Obama’s TINY Budget Cut Spin – Less Than 1/2 of 1 Per Cent
Candidate Obama once ridiculed and belittled John McCain during the campaign for proposing small budget cuts by cutting earmarks. Remember when he said that earmarks “aren’t “going to solve the problem?”
Now, Senator McCain talks a lot about earmarks. That’s one of the centerpieces of his campaign. Earmarks account for one-half of 1 percent of the total federal budget. There’s no doubt that the system needs reform and there are a lot of screwy things that we end up spending money on, and they need to be eliminated. But it’s not going to solve the problem.
Uhhhhh no it won’t. But what about your campaign rhetoric, Mr President?
Oh, it is just a start, you say…….spin, spin, spin
Right.

Poll Watch: California Budget Propositions Failing – Opposition Rising
So says the latest Public Policy Institute of California poll on California May 19 Special Election Propositions.
- Proposition 1A: 52 percent no, 35 percent yes
- Proposition 1B: 47 percent no, 40 percent yes
- Proposition 1C: 58 percent no, 32 percent yes
- Proposition 1D: 45 percent no, 43 percent yes
- Proposition 1E: 48 percent no, 41 percent yes
- Proposition 1F: 73 percent yes, 24 percent no
The full report is here (PDF).
There is no surprise here.
California voters do not trust RINO Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger who has reneged on his no or low tax pledges that swept him into office. And, voters do not trust the Democrat dominated Legislature who never met a tax they did not like and who have spent the state into bankruptcy.
Governor Schwarzenegger now enjoys a 34 per cent approval rating and the California Legislature fairs more poorly with a approval rating of 12 per cent.
You can see the out of touch California and Ventura County Democratic Party positions on the failing propositions here.

Day By Day by Chris Muir May 8, 2009 – Can’t Cut the Mustard
Day By Day by Chris MuirThe whole Dijon mustard burger flap is symbolism over substance. President Obama is an “elitist” who graduated from Harvard Law School. He is NOT a common man and that is why voters elected him as President.
Critics of Obama should concentrate on his policies and offer alternatives rather than mocking his obvious media spin.

Intelligence officials released documents this evening saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was briefed in September 2002 about the use of harsh interrogation tactics against al-Qaeda prisoners, seemingly contradicting her repeated statements over the past 18 months that she was never told that these techniques were actually being used.
In a 10-page memo outlining an almost seven-year history of classified briefings, intelligence officials said that Pelosi and then-Rep. Porter Goss (R-Fla.) were the first two members of Congress ever briefed on the interrogation tactics. Then the ranking member and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, respectively, Pelosi and Goss were briefed Sept. 4, 2002, one week before the first anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

For many Republicans, including Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, the reaction to Sen. Arlen Specter’s party switch was unequivocal: good riddance.
Yet even as his jilted former party slams the door behind him, the GOP is quietly pursuing a 2010 strategy that relies heavily on candidates nearly identical to Specter. The party’s road to winning back a Senate majority, it seems, is paved with moderates whose records are sure to make conservatives blanch.
For the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s recruitment list for 2010 reads like a roster of some of the party’s best-known RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) and squishes — the derisive terms applied to centrists by movement conservatives.

The Administration proposes to terminate the Multiple Kill Vehicle (MKV), which is a long-term research and development program designed to counter ballistic missile threats by using several "kill" vehicles launched from a single interceptor, or missile. The Administration will instead focus on proven, near-term missile defense programs that can provide more immediate defenses of the United States, its deployed forces, and allies against ballistic missile attack.
Justification
The primary reason the Administration proposes to terminate this long-term development program is to focus, instead, on proven, near-term missile defense programs, such as the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense programs. The capabilities of the THAAD and Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense programs have been demonstrated through numerous successful flight tests. This termination of MKV will save over $4 billion from 2010 through 2015.
