Hell, Specter is lucky to stand up not less know what he is talking about.

I don’t think Specter will be re-elected next year.

    It’s important that we get control of health care expenses. As you know, we are already providing universal care, but it’s administered through emergency rooms and paid for by current payees into the system. Care is already rationed. Our system may have the best technology available, but anyone who has had to have emergency surgery in another knows that some of our allies’ health systems are better than ours. Infant mortality rates here in US not anywhere near top.

    We do lead the world in morbid obesity tho.

    No reason why we should rush to write and sign a bill that we won’t want to live with later. Take some time. Explain things. Otherwise we’ll end up with something disastrous like the so-called ‘Patriot Act’. If you are for slowing down, I’m with you. But we need to fix this system, just like we need to fix social security.

    As for the shout-downs. I hope rabid mobs are your idea of democracy. You guys crow ‘Brownshirts’ all the time. Do you guys know who the ‘Brownshirts’ were? They were the ones who intimidated people in THIS fashion. It’s actually alot like Florida in 2000. Watch what you wish for!

    Actually, Arlen Specter will be re-elected, but as a Democrat of course. That’s just the way it is; he puts his constituents and state above party.

    Secondly, Mr. Specter was not schooled as you seem to intimate, but he certainly has shown only steel in his spine by standing firm in his convictions while attendees at his town hall become blustering buffoons. What, 79 years of age, and proving why he is the one leading the meeting while the herd is bleating rhetoric.
