Carly Fiorina

Five Former California Republican Party Chairmen Call Carly Fiorina As the Best to Take on Barbara Boxer

From the Press Release:

Calling her the best candidate to take on Barbara Boxer, five former California Republican Party Chairmen today announced their support for Carly Fiorina, should she run for the U.S. Senate. Dr. Tirso Del Junco, former Reagan Administration Secretary of Energy John Herrington, Mike Montgomery, former state Assemblyman Bob Naylor and Frank Visco cite Carly’s leadership skills and successful business background as well as her commitment to Republican values of fiscal conservatism, smaller, more effective government, personal responsibility and individual freedom.

“Carly understands that small businesses like mine are the engine that drives our economy, both here in California and across the country. As California’s Senator Carly would stand up against Democrat-led tax increases and burdensome regulations that are costing jobs,” Visco said.

Naylor, a former Assembly Republican Leader, called Carly the best candidate to take on Barbara Boxer. “Carly Fiorina offers dynamic leadership with the kind of common sense approach that a business background provides and without the harsh partisanship which is Barbara Boxer’s hallmark,” Naylor said.

“As CEO of a Fortune 20 company, Carly would bring incredible leadership and business know-how to the Senate and would be a powerful advocate for California’s interests. That’s a stark contrast to Barbara Boxer, who has proven she cares more about towing the party line than helping Californians,” said Herrington.

A medical doctor, Del Junco noted that Carly would be a powerful voice for California and the country on the critical issues of the day, from jobs and the economy to the current debate about health care reform. “As a businesswoman she understands how the markets work; as a cancer survivor she brings a unique and necessary perspective to the health care debate,” Del Junco added.

Former CRP Chairman Mike Montgomery is also supporting Fiorina.

Fiorina is currently exploring the possibility of running against Senator Barbara Boxer for the United States Senate in 2010. She will decide on her candidacy later in the Fall.

Carly has screwed up every job she’s held – all the way back to Lucent…

She is also utterly detested in California’s tech communities for wrecking HP.

Chuck DeVore is the right person to take on Boxer.

I have never felt at such odds with my own party as I do now.

The taxes in CA are not high, they are BRUTAL! Not just taxes, utilities, and the standard of living either. Elected officials at every level now think it is their God-given right to take money from us at every turn, and they have become super- creative with their fines, fees, levies and penalties. So much so, that working now is a chore. I’m going to part with so much of my hard-earn money, I honestly think what’s the damn point!

Then when the audacious Prop 1a comes along to increase these higher taxes for a further two years, up pops Chuck DeVore to warn us. Thanks to him the word gets around and we are spared this outrageous hardship.

So, you’d think the GOP – yes, the Republican Party of less taxes – would hail this guy as the hero who embodies all that the GOP believes and stands for. Of course the GOP will get right behind the guy that has become synonymous with defending the poor, overburdened tax-payers of California, won’t they?

Well, no; except for a few brave souls. No, the powers that be have decided to back someone else.

So now all us rank and file, grassroots, of-no-consequence-voting Republicans are left scratching our heads. What’s happening? We have turned out for Chuck DeVore! We have been supporting him since he declared in November 2008 – he has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt he has our backs and will stick up for us tax-payers even when it’s not popular.

You want us to do what? Back someone else now?
    Why?
    She’s more electable?

Wait a darn minute. You’re talking to the grassroots folk. I think many of you GOP bigwigs have forgotten how hard it is to be a precinct captain. I wore out a pair of shoes to get Schwarzenegger elected. Let’s see – how has that worked out for us? Hmm- it’s not worked out well at all, has it? He couldn’t even veto bloody Harvey Milk Day.

So, here’s the choice to take out Boxer –
    1. A candidate decided on by DC.
    2. A guy that has proven beyond all doubt he has our backs.

Our vote is CHUCK DEVORE, and I suggest you top Republicans WISE-UP!!! In case you haven’t noticed, it’s NOT business as usual!

Carly Fiorina is a lifelong Republican who is well educated, accomplished and well known. She will make a great U.S. Senator.

The fact is that Chuck DeVore has been running for a year and has not been able to raise the money to compete against Barbara Boxer. This is a measure of his support among the party faithful and the special interests that fund campaigns.

It does not appear that DeVore is a VIABLE candidate.

But, this will be worked out in a competitive primary election. To the best candidate goes the victory.

Sorry, but you are focusing on the wrong issue.

This is what we said about Schwarzenegger – we have to elect him because we can win with him. I know we have doubts, but we need a Republican Governor.

Look what the hell we got – a democrat disguised as a Republican, and I knew we were done for the minute the new Governor hired a democrat as his chief of staff.

I will never do that again, and I am not prepared to do it now, as is the feeling with the hundreds I mingle with in my various groups down here.

Here’s another example, which I bet Newt is regretting. He endorsed Scazzofava (or whatever her name is) just because she has an (R) after her name. She thankfully steps down, and what’s the first things she does? She endorses the democrat!
Whoo – embarrassing? No, we all know-nothing precinct captains could have told you she would do that.

If you don’t get it now, you never will.

    Here’s another argument for you.

If you vote Fiorina it will be the usual case cross your fingers and hope like hell she says what she means because no one knows.

For goodness sake VOTE DEVORE!! At least he has served as an elected official and proven – categorically – to be on the side of the tax payer.
