CA-Sen: Carly Fiorina To Announce Support for Citizen Power Initiative

No big surprise here except Tom Campbell probably won’t support it (or I will be surprsied that he will) and Chuck DeVore will claim he was the first and only true blue supporter of neutering public employee unions in California.

    From the press release:

During a speech at the Fairbanks Republican Women Federated meeting, U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina will  announce her position on the Citizen Power Initiative. She will also discuss her background, her candidacy for U.S. Senate and her commitment to job creation, economic recovery and controlling government spending.

WHO:        U.S. Senate Candidate Carly Fiorina

WHAT:       Speech About Citizen Power Initiative And Priorities For California

    WHEN:      Tuesday, February 9, 2010
                      12:00 p.m.

WHERE:    Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines
                      10950 North Torrey Pines Road
                      La Jolla, CA 92037

At the event, Carly will deliver remarks and then take questions from the attendees. Following the meeting, Carly will hold a brief media availability with press in attendance.

The website for the initiative is here.

I’ll be voting for the measure but look for the public employee unions to spend millions to defeat it. What will be their issue? Taking away the little guys right to fight “the man” by organizing and pooling their union dues as political contributions.

    Update:

Guess I am surprised because I was informed that Tom Campbell endorsed this initiative when he was running for California Governor last December.

So, it looks like all three GOP Senate candidates will now endorse the initiative. Wonder if they will donate any money to the campaign?

    Day By Day February 8, 2010 – Obama’s Crib

Day By Day by Chris Muir

I was actually surprised when Sarah Palin delivered her address to the National Tea Party Convention this past Saturday evening in that she did not use a teleprompter. She gave such a great and seemless speech two summers ago at the Republican National Convention in Minnesota via teleprompter. Did she discard the mechanical device to contrast herself from Obama?

And, now the LEFT is carping about Palin writing a few notes on her hand during the  Q & A.

While I agree the Left’s freak out over Palin’s hand note is getting silly, people should at least be honest in addressing the issue at hand, if you will. Quote below from Founding Bloggers. The notes had nothing to do with her speech. They were for the Q & A, which is when she actually referred to them. She read the damned speech, doh!

Chris, should there be a teleprompter falure for the President, Obama is sunk and impromptu (non-scripted) Q & A debate sessions with Hillary Clinton as the foil were not pretty. How about his nationally televised news conferences? Plodding at best.

Why is everyone comparing Sarah Palin, a media pundit now, to the President anyway?

One wonders if the race for the Presidency in 2010 has already started.
