    • As rumored, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose endorsement gave former Hewlett-Packard chief Carly Fiorina a boost in the Republican campaign for the U.S. Senate nomination, gave her some more help Monday: a recorded call that went out to 650,000 likely Republican voters in California, according to Fiorina spokeswoman Julie Soderlund.

    • Slate.com blogger Mickey Kaus, the challenger to U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, gets credit for making the 2010 Democratic U.S. Senate race livelier, all right — but how 'bout that Sunday New York Times story claiming Kaus has famously "knocked boots" with just about everyone in LA?

We don't know the definition in the Grey Lady newsroom, but — ahem — we can tell you what "knocking boots" means in the Bay Area (and the Urban Dictionary). And it ain't about the footwear.

Backstory: The New York Times' Style section print edition Sunday profiled the bachelor candidate, saying that "it's difficult to find a writer or politico in Los Angeles who hasn't knocked boots..with Kaus at a party.''

    • By more than a 2-to-1 margin, Americans support the pursuit of criminal charges in the nation's worst oil spill , with increasing numbers calling it a major environmental disaster. Eight in 10 criticize the way BP's handled it – and more people give the federal government's response a negative rating than did the response to Hurricane Katrina.

A month and a half after the spill began, 69 percent in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll rate the federal response negatively. That compares with a 62 negative rating for the response to Katrina two weeks after the August 2005 hurricane.

    • Tomorrow is primary day in California. By that evening, we’ll know whether Carly Fiorina, Tom Campbell, or Chuck DeVore is the choice of California Republicans to face off against Barbara Boxer in November. This election year is our last, best chance to dethrone the malign queen of the California left, with her black heart and bad ideas — and I hope we make the right choice. I hope we choose Chuck DeVore.

In fact, I think we will. The peculiar dynamics of 2010 aren’t captured by any poll, and we’re taking this effort down to the wire.

But I’m not writing this as a last-minute push for Chuck DeVore. I’m writing this to thank you. RedState mattered in this primary, for all the right reasons.

Laughing my ass of at Chuck DeVore and Joshua Trevino and Justin Hart for an UTTER FAIL of a campaign. Why anyone would ever trust these morons again to run a campaign for anything is beyond comprehension.

    • On June 6, 1944, the D-Day invasion of Europe took place during World War II as Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. America lost 2,499 of its finest men that day.

It’s too bad Barack Obama missed the anniversary today.

The White House website has nothing posted today on the 66th Anniversary of the D-Day landing.

The president had other things on his mind.
He was attending his second party this week, tonight at the Ford Theatre.

  • Carly Fiorina,  Chuck DeVore,  Tom Campbell

CA-Sen Poll Watch: Carly Fiorina Up Big With 54%, Tom Campbell 19%, Chuck DeVore 16%

The latest and final Magellan Data and Mapping Strategies poll has Carly Fiorina up big.

Looking at the changes in the US Senate contest, Carly Fiorina’s campaign has increased her support by 10 points, up from 44%, Tom Campbell has dropped 2 points from 21% to 19% and Chuck Devore has increased by 2 points, up from 14%. Other candidate support has decreased 2 points to 5%, and undecided voters has decreased 8 points from 14%.

Here is the composite Pollster graph:

    This race is over.

Put a fork in Chuck DeVore and Tom Campbell – they are done.

Tom Campbell can make plans to go back to Chapman Law School and Chuck DeVore (the termed out California Assemblyman) can run for the City of Irvine Mayor or City Council.

    Bring on Barbara Boxer………

Day By Day June 7, 2010 – Face It

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Helen Thomas and the “Jews should get the hell out of Palestine” flap is the face of the MSM today.

Longtime White House correspondent Helen Thomas was captured on video telling an interviewer that Israeli Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” and “go home” to Germany and Poland. The May 27 exchange with Rabbi David Nesenoff was posted June 3 at www.RabbiLIVE.com and featured at the top of the Drudge Report on Friday and Saturday (complete with a picture of a smiling President Obama with his arm around Thomas at her 89th birthday last year.)

After her comments became public, Thomas posted a statement at HelenThomas.org: “I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heartfelt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.”

The lack of outrage from the MSM is notable. Had this been a journalist at the National Review, the response for their dismissal would have been overwhelming.

    A double standard, you ask?

For the MSM, Plus CA Change.
