    • Just when you though the open borders crowd could not possibly be more out of touch with American workers, comes this gem. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), even when confronted with multiple sources of hard data, denies both that illegal aliens work on construction jobs in his state, and that E-Verify is effective in weeding out illegals from jobs in the first place. Reid opposed making E-Verify the law of the land for construction firms working on Federal "Stimulus" jobs.

      Uh No…….

    • Immigration reform critics are seizing on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's assertion this week that there are no illegal immigrants working construction jobs in Nevada, even though a recent study found that his home state had the largest percentage of undocumented workers in the country.

When a reporter from KLAS-TV in Las Vegas told Reid a 2009 Pew Hispanic Center report found 17 percent of the nation’s construction workers were undocumented, the Nevada Democrat replied: “That may be some place, but it’s not here in Nevada.”

    • Actor Larry Hagman was all about petroleum when he played oil magnate J.R. Ewing in television's long runing "Dallas" series.

These days, he's pitching solar energy with a new slogan — "Shine, baby, shine," — soon to air on a television near you.

Hagman is the face of a new ad campaign for SolarWorld, the German company making solar cells in Hillsboro. He admits the slogan is a jab at Sarah Palin's "Drill, baby, drill," refrain during the 2008 presidential campaign.

"'Shine, baby, shine' is an inexhaustible source of energy," said Hagman, who plans to address the Intersolar trade show today in San Francisco. "When affordable oil gives out, we're in real trouble — I mean the collapse of civilization, within 15 to 20 years."

      Good grief

    • In a rare departure from this year's intense political posturing over the soaring budget deficit, House leaders of both parties recently signaled that they are prepared to tackle a leading long-term liability — Social Security — by raising the retirement age.

Politicians often talk in generalities about cutting the deficit, but discussing specifics about how Congress may curb the growth of the biggest and most popular programs such as Social Security and defense is controversial and usually taboo in an election year.

But lessons learned from the debt crisis in Europe and worries that the U.S. could soon confront its own debt crisis, with annual deficits projected at about $1 trillion for years to come, may have prompted the unusually frank comments by House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer, Maryland Democrat, and House Minority Leader John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican.

How about cutting the spending and tightening the border.

Time to throw them all out of office.

Day By Day July 14, 2010 – One Folk

Day By Day by Chris Muir

You would think the Far Left advisors of President Obama who populate the White House would have learned from the blatant political indoctrination flap last year. But, alas they have not.

A word of advice to the President:

Stop playing golf and the Saul Alinsky organizing tactics. Address the policy concerns of Americans – concentrate first on the economy and unemployment. Postpone ObamaCare.

Maybe then, you will be re-elected.
