    • Even though she didn’t openly discuss her intentions, the possibility of a Palin run was discussed by many in the room.

“I was surprised about how many people in room said ‘yes’ when I asked if they could see themselves supporting her,” said one attendee. “I was expecting to hear what you mostly hear — ‘I hope she doesn’t do it’ or, ‘She’s more effective doing what she’s doing.’”

The gathering, first reported by US News & World Report, was described as a “get-acquainted” session by an attendee and was held in conjunction with a video interview Palin did with Newsmax, set to air next week. The evening began with a reception and dinner and was followed by Palin speaking and taking questions.

    • Nicky Diaz Santillan, the undocumented ex-housekeeper to Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, has been given a date for the hearing of her wage claim against her former boss — Oct. 20 in San Jose.

Diaz filed a claim with the California Department of Industrial Relations on Sept. 29 that alleges she is owed $6,210 for hours of work and mileage costs that Whitman did not pay her.

A spokeswoman for the agency said this week it will investigate the claim by contacting Whitman and performing an audit of payroll records before determining a course of action, which typically happens within 30 days.

Diaz, of course, is the housekeeper who worked for Whitman for nine years, from 200-2009; she said Whitman knew her status and fired her after she asked her help in arranging her immigration status. The former eBay CEO has said she hired Diaz through an employment agency, believed she had proper documentation, and fired her when she learned she was undocumented.

    • California grossly miscalculated pollution levels in a scientific analysis used to toughen the state's clean-air standards, and scientists have spent the past several months revising data and planning a significant weakening of the landmark regulation, The Chronicle has found.

The pollution estimate in question was too high – by 340 percent, according to the California Air Resources Board, the state agency charged with researching and adopting air quality standards. The estimate was a key part in the creation of a regulation adopted by the Air Resources Board in 2007, a rule that forces businesses to cut diesel emissions by replacing or making costly upgrades to heavy-duty, diesel-fueled off-road vehicles used in construction and other industries.

    • The DSCC is moving TV ad money out of Missouri, a sign that the Senate race may be moving beyond Democrats' grasp.

Four Republican sources who monitor media buying and three Missouri TV stations have confirmed to Hotline On Call that the DSCC has canceled reservations from Oct. 11 to Oct. 25. The DSCC still has reservations in Missouri for the last week before Election Day.

      A GOP hold.

"Yes, the weeks of Oct. 12 and Oct. 19 have been canceled for the DSCC in our station," Sean Kellerman of WDAF, the Kansas City, MO, FOX affiliate, said.

"They have requested cancellations," said Amy Warren of KCTV, Kansas City's CBS affiliate.

As with all ad buy changes, it is worth keeping in mind that they are fluid and can change at any time. The DSCC could still go on the air in Missouri during this time period, but it would have to pay a higher ad rate than it first reserved.

CA-Gov: Jerry Brown Vs. Meg Whitman and the Whore Comment

KTLA Los Angeles coverage of a Jerry Brown campaign aide calling Meg Whitman a “Whore”

What will be the fall out?

California voters are getting fed up with all of the television ads and the personal BS of the Brown Vs. Whitman campaign.

Jerry Brown is trying to cultivate some likability and this certainly won’t help him by making Whitman a sympathetic figure, particularly after her illegal alien maid flap.

Advantage Whitman, especially if she runs some ads.

  • Barbara Boxer,  Carly Fiorina

CA-Sen: NRSC Pumping in Another $ Million to Carly Fiorina Campaign

Carly Fiorina’s latest television ad, “Day” produced by Fred Davis

No surprise here with the race within the margin of error of most polls.

Contrary to Democrats’ hopes and expectations that national Republicans would give up on the California Senate race, the party is stuffing another $1 million of precious cash into Senate candidate Carly Fiorina’s challenge to incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer.

National Republican Senatorial committee spokeswoman Amber Marchand said that brings the total to nearly $3 million, proof certain that the GOP thinks Fiorina can win despite Boxer’s lead in the polls.

Boxer has held a big cash advantage and Fiorina needs all the help she can get to avoid letting Boxer go unchallenged on TV in the final weeks of the race. California is the most expensive state in the nation to run a race because of the necessity of using TV to reach voters.

It looks like going into the last few weeks of the campaign, Carly Fiorina will be able to nearly match the media campaign of the well-financed Senator Barbara Boxer.

This race looks like it will turn on the persuasion of the television campaigns and GOTV (Get Out the Vote Efforts).

If you enjoy the television program, you should definitely make time to see these top ten performers. There were plenty of children in the audience for this “G” rated show.

My fav was, of course, Jackie Evancho, who is featured in the video above. But, I really liked all of the performers and foresee a bright entertainment future for all of them.

Day By Day October 8, 2010 – Biden Time

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Zed, you blew it with the Vice President Slow Joe Biden shtick because nobody takes this gaffe prone POL seriously. Look at Biden’s latest.

Vice President Joe Biden got a laugh from his audience at a Wisconsin fundraising event Thursday when he tried to rile the crowd about the economic collapse of 2008.

“We want to reward people who manufacture things in the United States, in Wisconsin, not to take them overseas to China and to other countries!” he said to a silent room at the event for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Tom Barrett, according to a White House pool report.

He continued, saying, “You’re the dullest audience I’ve ever spoken to,” at which point he got applause and laughs. “Do you realize how many jobs Wisconsin lost? It’s staggering!”

Joe Biden should be let loose and let Biden be Biden. Slow Joe cannot help who he is.

But, is there any doubt who was leaking the story that Hillary Clinton would be replacing Biden for the 2012 election?
