Update: Ad Pulled – President 2012: Mitt Romney Releases Rick Perry Debate Blopper Video Which Asks: Is Perry Ready to Lead?
+++++Update+++++The video previously released by the Mitt Romney campaign has been pulled.“Disgusting” isn’t too strong a word to use here. The ad isn’t a hit on policy or another candidate’s record in office. It’s a very personal hit, meant to suggesting without saying outright that the other candidate is a blithering idiot, by using selective video editing. That kind of treatment can literally be done to anyone who has ever spent any amount of time in the public eye over the past half century. It’s funny when Conan O’Brien does it as a comedy bit. Not so much, when a candidate does it to a competitor to suggest that another candidate is a fool.
I think Mitt was pissed off that Rick Perry mentioned the “illegal” gardener at the Las Vegas GOP debate last night and shot a message across the bow of Team Perry.
But, this won’t be the last nasty and ugly ad from Romney or Perry.
Republicans need to nominate someone who can challenge President Obama in a debate. Can Rick Perry?Mitt Romney ridicules Rick Perry’s debate performances in this back-handed slap of a web video.Looks like Mitt wants to go for a Perry knock out and early knock out at that. Well, after all, Perry is sitting on all of that campaign cash. Why give Perry any opening?
The airwaves are going to get nasty, personal and ugly pretty quick now.

President 2012: Rick Perry Attacks Mitt Romney on Immigration – Really?
Rick Perry and Mitt romney take off the gloves regarding illegal immigrationPut it this way, Cain, Bachmann, Santorum and the rest would be thrilled for Perry to talk about immigration all day long. Perry, probably out of personal pique, doesn’t seem to understand that his real problem is not Romney but the other Tea Party-friendly candidates who have eaten his lunch and taken his voters.

Flap’s Links and Comments for October 18th through October 19th
These are my links for October 18th through October 19th:
- Issa: NLRB is Acting as a Rogue Agency – House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa snapped at National Labor Relations Board general counsel Lafe Solomon for openly defying his congressional subpoena.
Not complying with congressional subpoena is technically an illegal act, and Solomon could be charged with contempt of Congress if Issa, a leading Republican, chooses to proceed down that path.
“Your continued personal obstruction, lack of compliance with a validly issued congressional subpoena and false statements to the committee are unacceptable,” Issa said in a Monday letter to Solomon. “The NLRB is acting as a rogue agency that believes it does not have to fully answer to Congress.”
Issa’s subpoenas relate to the NLRB’s ongoing case against the Boeing Company. The NLRB has echoed allegations by the International Association of Machinists union that Boeing committed an “unfair labor practice” by opening a new production plant in South Carolina instead of in Washington State, where the company’s other production lines are located. Since the allegations were made, Boeing has added more jobs in both Washington and South Carolina, but the Machinists union and the NLRB think the company’s chosen location for the new line was a “retaliation” against the union because South Carolina is a right to work state.
- WI Dems kick out reporter during recall Walker training – The campaign to recall Gov. Scott Walker may be a grassroots effort as its organizers insist, but it proved less than transparent Tuesday evening when Wisconsin Reporter showed up to report on a recall training session.
Graeme Zielinski, a Democratic Party spokesman with a history of threats against Wisconsin Reporter, ranted at the news organization’s reporter in attendance by phone and threatened Wisconsin Reporter again.
More than 100 supporters turned out to the event at the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees Council 40 office on Madison’s west side. The session, led by the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, is designed to ensure that recall volunteers know how to collect signatures properly.
Within minutes of arriving, however, a Wisconsin Reporter journalist who identified herself as a member of the media was asked to leave by an organizer who cited the campaign’s desire to keep the information out of the media.
The reporter agreed to leave, but asked to speak with the person making the request. The reporter was then put on the phone with Zielinski.
Zielinski called the reporter unprofessional, accused her of sneaking into a party function and then threatened to discuss the incident Wednesday with the statehouse press corps, of which Wisconsin Reporter is a member.
“Get out,” Zielinski shouted. “Don’t come to our party functions anymore.”
He then hung up the phone.
The Wisconsin Reporter staff writer had signed up to attend the event on the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s website, using her name and wisconsinreporter.com email address.
Tuesday wasn’t the first time Zielinski has threatened Wisconsin Reporter. - Amnesty by Any Means – Analysis of a series of leaked memos from within the Department of Homeland Security’s highest ranks shows that the Obama administration has sought for the last year and a half to form a strategy to achieve amnesty for the illegal population without input from Congress. The goal? Ultimately, according to a June 2010 memo, the administration seeks to “reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization.” Well aware of the potential political fallout among both Congress and the American people, the administration provided internal briefs on the pros and cons of varying strategies to gain an administrative amnesty.
The course eventually decided on appears to be the now infamous June 2011 “prosecutorial discretion” memo issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton. This memo, embraced by the White House a few weeks ago, sets a course that prevents the enforcement of immigration law, provides a de facto amnesty, and is effectively worker authorization for much of the current illegal population. The current course of non-enforcement is in contrast to the initial proposed strategies of proactive immigration law rewrites.
In this memo is a thorough analysis of the extent the Obama administration is willing to go to deceive America into accepting unprecedented executive branch immigration law rewrites and changes in immigration processing to get around their federal responsibility to enforce immigration law. Obama administration actions taken to peel back visa interviews abroad, reduce enforcement on our physical borders, replace worksite enforcement to worksite audits, take actions against states seeking to enforce the law but no action against sanctuary cities, and support of only two immigration enforcement programs — Secure Communities and E-Verify — make sense when placed against the backdrop of these memos. On September 29, 2011, more evidence that this agenda is on track came in a Washington Post front page story describing the Obama administration’s overt actions to discourage states from attempting to get their illegal populations under control:

GOP Ad Ties Democrat Rep. John Garamendi to Obama and a Bankrupt Solyndra
John Garamendi supported President Obama’s failed stimulus, which took bets with taxpayer money and recently lost $535 million on the Solyndra scandal.California Democrat Rep. John Garmaendi has a Solyndra problem and the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee) is calling him and President Obama out.The National Republican Congressional Committee is sending an early signal that it intends to compete in California in 2012.
The committee is launching an ad Thursday against Rep. John Garamendi, a Democrat serving his first full term and running in the redrawn, Sacramento-area 3rd district. His district got considerably more competitive in the state’s independent redistricting process, and he was outraised by his Republican opponent in the third quarter.
The 60-second ad, which launches Thursday and will run on cable for two weeks, ties Garamendi to President Barack Obama and his support for Solyndra, a California-based solar power company that went bankrupt after receiving a $535 million federal loan guarantee.
“John Garamendi supported the Obama policy that loaned Solyndra money,” the announcer says in the ad. “Garamendi backed Obama’s failed stimulus economic policy. John Garamendi and President Obama are making our economy worse.”
Garamendi’s top GOP opponent is Colusa County Supervisor Kim Dolbow Vann, who raised $125,000 in the third quarter and had nearly all of that left in the bank at the end of September. Garamendi raised just $93,000 and had $113,000 in cash on hand.
The district is one of six potential California targets for the NRCC. Democrats are still expected to gain seats in the state next year, but how many will depend on whether the GOP can pick up some of the more competitive districts such as the 3rd.
It should be an interesting Congressional election season with the new Congressional districts drawn by a citizen’s commission. Also, the top two vote getters in the June primary election, then move on to the general election in the Fall.
Obviously, the NRCC views Garamendi, a long-time Democratic POL in California, as vulnerable.
And, he may very well be, especially of voter turn out for President Obama is low.

President 2012 GOP Poll Watch: One Word that Comes to Mind – Oh My Rick Perry!
Republican presidential candidate Texas Gov. Rick Perry speaks during a Republican presidential debate Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, in Las Vegas
According to the latest Washington Post-Pew Research Center Poll. This poll was conducted for The Washington Post and the Pew Research Center by telephone October 13 to 16, 2011, among a random national sample of 1,007 adults, including users of both conventional and cellular phones. The results from the full survey have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points; the margin of error is 5.5 points for Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Sampling, data collection and tabulation by Princeton Survey Research Associates International (PSRAI) of Princeton, NJ.
As I name a few Republican candidates for president please tell me the ONE word that comes to mind. First, [ITEM].
Ouch!Frankly, with these perceptions, I really do not see how Texas Governor Rick Perry can win the nomination.
I would say that you can put a fork in him – Perry’s Done.

President 2012: Las Vegas GOP Debate – Winners and Losers
Republican presidential candidates former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, left, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry speak during a Republican presidential debate Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, in Las Vegas
I, always wait a few hours before writing these post-mortems on the GOP Presidential debates. It is best to do so and let all of the spin sort itself out of the blogosphere and my e-mail box.So, who won and who lost last night?
WINNERS:Mitt Romney – under personal attack from Rick Perry the Teflon candidate, while not unscathed, managed to repel Perry and remain the front-runner. Mitt has been crusing the past few debates and he proved he can mix it up with the best of them.
Barack Obama – the President actually looks sane and reasonable as compared to the haranguing group of GOP contenders. The GOP should enforce a poll requirement rule and limit who attends the next few debates and that goes from Rick Santorum to Ron Paul.
LOSERS:
Herman Cain – his 9-9-9 tax was exposed as the double Valued Added Tax that it is. A tax which WOULD increase taxes on the majority of Americans. Rick Perry was correct when he said it won’t fly.Michele Bachmann – she continued her decent into the third tier with an uninspiring performance, sticking to her talking points to win over religious conservatives in Iowa. Even if Bachmann wins in Iowa, she is done, just like Huckabee in 2008, but probably with less campaign funds. Romney hopes Michele has enough money to last until January 3 and the Iowa Caucuses. This may be a stretch.
Rick Perry – his Texas BULLYING style will not win him any friends in the GOP or with independent voters. Obama’s campaign team should want to run against this stereotypical boisterous “redneck Texan.” His personal attacks on Romney’s illegal alien gardeners were as hypocritical as Perry’s signing of the Texas Dream Act which delivered subsidized college tuition to Texas illegal aliens. While both are weak on illegal immigration, Perry is far the weaker and proved that again last night.
BIGGEST LOSER:American people – CNN clearly lost control of this debate and at times it was embarrassing. It seemed it was a yell-filled fest with NO adult in the room. American voters have to be asking: is this the best America or the GOP has to offer as an alternative to President Obama?
What a choice in 2012: a “FAILED and INCOMPETENT” President Obama and a group of juvenile acting POSERS.
