Does anyone think Barack Obama is abandonding the Gay Community by inviting anti-gay marriage Pastor Rick Warren to offer a prayer at Obama’s inauguration?

    Symbolism over substance.

Yes, the Homosexual Lobby will bellow and bloviate about the injustice but they will eventually have proposed/enacted all of their agenda.

Don’t see any protests in the streets or talk about boycotts of the Obama inauguration, do you?

California Proposition 8 Supporter and Anti-Gay Marriage Pastor Rick Warren Selected to Deliver Invocation at Barack Obama Inauguration

“New Evangelical” leader Rick Warren comes out forcefully in support of California’s anti-gay marriage amendment.

Barack Obama has chosen the founder and senior Pastor at California’s Saddleback Church, Pro-Life, conservative Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at his inauguration. Warren is nationally acclaimed pastor and author of the New York Times bestselling “The Purpose Driven Life.” He previously announced  his support in favor of Proposition  8, California’s Protect Marriage Act that passed in November and restored the traditional definition of marriage (one man and one woman).

    Key Warren graph on marriage:

“For 5,000 years, every culture and every religion – not just Christianity – has defined marriage as a contract between men and women,” Warren wrote. “There is no reason to change the universal, historical definition of marriage to appease 2% of our population.”

But, the homosexual community is NOT happy.

The Human Rights Campaign and gay and lesbian activists are up in arms over the Obama transition team’s announcement that the Reverend Rick Warren has been selected to deliver the invocation at his inauguration in January.

The HRC sent a letter to president elect Barack Obama Wednesday expressing their disappointment in the selection of Warren.“Our loss in California over the passage of Proposition 8 which stripped loving, committed same-sex couples of their given legal right to marry is the greatest loss our community has faced in 40 years,” the letter reads. “And by inviting Rick Warren to your inauguration, you have tarnished the view that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans have a place at your table.”

Early in his campaign, Obama ran up against criticism from LGBT Americans for his inclusion of antigay political figures in his faith tour and on campaign stops. “Reformed gay” gospel singer Donnie McClurkin performed at an early event for Obama, drawing jeers from LGBT activists.

McClurkin has long claimed that God saved him from homosexuality.

Weeks later, the press latched on to Obama’s friendship with antigay minister James Meeks, from whom Obama had long claimed to seek regular “spiritual counsel.” This association led a number of on-the-fence LGBT voters to rally behind Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries.

Here is the text of the letter:

    Dear President-elect Obama,

Let me get right to the point. Your invitation to Reverend Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at your inauguration is a genuine blow to LGBT Americans. Our loss in California over the passage of Proposition 8 which stripped loving, committed same-sex couples of their given legal right to marry is the greatest loss our community has faced in 40 years. And by inviting Rick Warren to your inauguration, you have tarnished the view that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans have a place at your table.

Rick Warren has not sat on the sidelines in the fight for basic equality and fairness. In fact, Rev. Warren spoke out vocally in support of Prop 8 in California saying, “there is no need to change the universal, historical definition of marriage to appease 2 percent of our population … This is not a political issue — it is a moral issue that God has spoken clearly about.” Furthermore, he continues to misrepresent marriage equality as silencing his religious views. This was a lie during the battle over Proposition 8, and it’s a lie today.

Rev. Warren cannot name a single theological issue that he and vehemently, anti-gay theologian James Dobson disagree on. Rev. Warren is not a moderate pastor who is trying to bring all sides together. Instead, Rev. Warren has often played the role of general in the cultural war waged against LGBT Americans, many of whom also share a strong tradition of religion and faith.

We have been moved by your calls to religious leaders to own up to the homophobia and racism that has stood in the way of combating HIV and AIDS in this country. And that you have publicly called on religious leaders to open their hearts to their LGBT family members, neighbors and friends.

But in this case, we feel a deep level of disrespect when one of architects and promoters of an anti-gay agenda is given the prominence and the pulpit of your historic nomination. Only when Rev. Warren and others support basic legislative protections for LGBT Americans can we believe their claim that they are not four-square against our rights and dignity. In that light, we urge you to reconsider this announcement.

    Sincerely,

    Joe Solmonese
    President
    Human Rights Campaign

Flap understands why the homosexual LEFT is upset.

Obama did name seven openly homosexual folks to his transition team but he has placed the issue of “gays in the military” on the backburner.

And, California African-American voters voted overwhelmingly in favor of California Proposition 8.

Now, Obama selects an anti-gay marriage Pastor to participate in the inauguration ceremony. It would be like President George W. Bush asking Barbara Streisand to speak at an RNC fundraising dinner.

But, Obama wants to be an inclusive President and irrespective of the homosexual community his voter base approves.

Exit questions: Will the radical gay marriage protesters that have marched against Mormon Churches, protested in front of Rick Warren’s church, harassed businesses and indviduals that supported Proposition 8, boycott or protest at Obama’s inauguration? Will they dare?

Arne Duncan – Obama’s Pick For Education Secretary Pushed for All Gay High School

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Chicago Public Schools chief Arne Duncan smiling during a news conference in Chicago. Considered a potential choice for education secretary in President-elect Barack Obama’s Cabinet, Duncan visited with outgoing Education Secretary Margaret Spellings in Washington Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, on what he said was a purely social call and had nothing to do with the possibility of being chosen education secretary.

    David Brody has the story.

The Chicago Public Schools’ first high school designed for gay, lesbian and transgender teens is among 20 new schools recommended to the school board today by CPS Chief Arne Duncan.

The proposed schools range from technology-focused high schools to the School for Social Justice Pride Campus, which officials said would cater to but not focus exclusively on gay youth.

Backers said they envision a small high school offering a college-preparatory curriculum in which students would take four years each of English and math, three years each of foreign languages and science, as well as fine arts and physical education. It would be a performance school, meaning it would have the same staffing and oversight requirements as other district schools.

The announcement of the schools, which are expected to open in the fall of 2009 and 2010, took place at the Chicago International Charter School’s Ralph Ellison Campus, 1817 W. 80th St. Public hearings on the proposed schools are expected before the Board of Education votes on them Oct. 22.

“If you look at national studies, you see gay and lesbian students with high dropout rates…Studies show they are disproportionately homeless,” Duncan said. “I think there is a niche there we need to fill.”

Supporters have said the Pride Campus would help students find a safe school environment because studies have shown that gay youth are at a greater risk of dropping out of school and abusing drugs and alcohol, and are two to three times more likely to attempt suicide. A 2003 district survey shows that gay and lesbian youths are three times more likely to miss school because they don’t feel safe.

Opponents have called the move a misuse of public funds. At a recent public hearing on the proposal, some gay rights advocates have said the move would segregate these students and said the district should work more on fostering acceptance by mainstream students, teachers and other school officials.

More on the gay high school: here, here and here.

Flap thought the FAR LEFT said that the homosexuual agenda and gay marriage folks did NOT involve the schools?

Well, we social conservatives knew differently, now didn’t we? And, there was William Ayers and his plans to radicalize the Chicago schools to push his radical left dogma.

This nomination will probably sail through the U.S. Senate in January but hopefully some GOP Senators will have the intestinal fortitude to ask this LEFTY what he plans next for education.

Gallup Poll: African Americans as Conservative as Republicans on Some Moral Issues Including Gay Marriage

    Black Democrats 1

An interesting poll just out by the Gallup shop.

Only 31% of black Democrats in America say homosexual relations are morally acceptable, roughly the same as the 30% of Republicans who agree, while very much different from the 61% of nonblack Democrats who say homosexual relations are morally acceptable.

And, this position on the issue of gay politics propelled California’s Proposition 8 which restored the traditional defintion of marriage to the California Constitution to victory in November.

Exit-poll results after that vote on Nov. 4 suggested that black California voters had overwhelmingly voted in favor of the amendment, while overall, Democrats in California overwhelmingly voted against it — essentially confirming the national attitude structure apparent from Gallup’s analysis.

This explains the reluctance of Barack Obama to ACTIVELY campaign against Proposition 8 in California and to state emphatically he supports marriage between a man and a woman. How does this translate into Obama’s public policy?

Obama has put homosexual politics on the backburner and his staff have stated the “don’t ask don’t tell” military position may ONLY be evaluated in a year or so.

Homosexual organizations wish to bring the gay marriage issue back to the California voters in 2010 should the California Supreme Court fail to overturn Propsoition 8 (which they will). With this poll, California gay marriage proponents have a long way to go.

Obama NOT Rushing to Repeal Gay’s in Military – Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Policy

President Obama is not apt to repeat Bill Clinton’s mistakes, now is he?

President-elect Barack Obama will not move for months, and perhaps not until 2010, to ask Congress to end the military’s decades-old ban on open homosexuals in the ranks, two people who have advised the Obama transition team on this issue say.

Repealing the ban was an Obama campaign promise. However, Mr. Obama first wants to confer with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and his new political appointees at the Pentagon to reach a consensus and then present legislation to Congress, the advisers said.

    Let’s see the advantages:

    1. He keeps his homosexual constituency on hold while he collects campaign contributions from them.

    2. Obama attaches his new pro-homosexual military policy to an appropriations bill so the Democrats in Congress do not have to vote separately on this issue exposing them to electoral scrutiny.

    3. Did Flap mention the campaign contribution part and the “MILKING?”
