President 2012: Newt Gingrich Urges Santorum and Perry to Drop Out of Presidential Race – Bring Conservatives Together Against Romney

Newt Gingrich on the Laura Ingraham Show

@4:53 Gingrich: One of my goals over the next four days is to convince South Carolina conservatives that voting for me is the one way that they can stop a moderate from becoming the nominee. And if I can convince enough people that the other votes are for nice guys who aren’t going to win that they functionally help Romney become the nominee.

Newt Gingrich is correct and the conservative vote is split and there is NO consensus candidate.

Buoyed by his strong debate performance in Myrtle Beach, Newt Gingrich has called his rivals to drop out of the race because “consolidating into a Gingrich candidacy” would “virtually guarantee victory” in the South Carolina primary and stop Mitt Romney becoming the Republican nominee.

Making the case to a crowd of almost 200 in an art gallery in the old railroad junction town of Florence, South Carolina he said: “If you look at the polling, I’m the only conservative who realistically has a chance to be the nominee.

“So any vote for Santorum or Perry in effect is a vote to allow Romney to become the nominee. Because we’ve got to bring conservatives together in order to stop him.”

But, do Santorum and Perry care?

    Probably not.

I suspect Perry will withdraw after a dismal Saturday performance in South Carolina and Santorum may not be able to continue due to campaign cash problems.

Newt could come in second in South Carolina (or even win it) and should a Super Pac fund him enough, weather Florida and hope for better election outcomes – one on one with Romney.

    But, is it too late?

  • Ann Coulter,  Laura Ingraham,  President 2012,  Sarah Palin

President 2012: Fish or Cut Bait Sarah Palin

Conservative divas Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter berated Sarah Palin and her supporters tonight on The O’Reilly Factor

Ann Coulter makes a valid point in the video above and Eric Erickson nails it this morning.

What they are saying is that Sarah Palin must “fish or cut bait” on her 2012 Presidential candidacy. Either Sarah, you are in, or you are out. But, in any case, ENOUGH of the tease.

I have said for months that Sarah Palin would determine she should run, if she were a viable candidate in the polls against President Barack Obama. Poll after poll has demonstrated that she is NOT.

Sarah Palin is NOT ELECTABLE against Obama.

So, is there a role for Sarah in 2012?

Of course, and she can rehabilitate her political careeer just as richard Nixon did. But, this rehab takes time. Sarah has plenty. She runs a 1:45 half marathon and is only 47 years old. Her politcal career has a few decades – if she plays it smart.

Sarah Palin should pick a conservative candidate for President who can beat Obama (Rick Perry or Mitt Romney or Michele Bachmann), latch on, maybe take a Cabinet position when they win. Or, move back to Alaska and run for Senate in 2014. Or, move to Arizona and take McCain’s seat when he retires.

Do something and end the tease – for all of us.

  • David Brody,  Laura Ingraham,  Mitch Daniels

President 2012: Mitch Daniels Playing with Fire with Social Conservatives?

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels with President Bush in the Oval Office

David Brody, CBN News White House Correspondent seems to think so.

The other day on Laura Ingraham’s radio show Daniels re-iterated his call for a “truce” on social issues while America gets its economic house in order. He now says he’d like to “mute” those issues for a little while.

Listen here.(You have to go 4 minutes into the clip to hear this) The transcription is below:

“If you don’t accept that we face a republic-threatening issue in terms of the debt–and again I would love to conclude one day that I was overreacting–but that threatens every one of us whatever our views on these other questions. I would like to think that fixing it and saving our kids future could be a unifying moment for our country and we wouldn’t stop our disagreements or our passionate belief in these other questions, we just sort of mute them for a little while, while we try to come together on the thing that menaces us all.” (Laura Ingraham show 01/31/11).

If Daniels gets in the race you can be sure that some other candidate is going to call him out on this. Whoever does it first will immediately endear himself or herself to social conservatives nationwide. Who’s going to do it?

    Yes, who will do it?

Mike Huckabee could as a Baptist minister but he has his own problems with pardoning Arkansas criminals and calling for the release of Jonathan Pollard. So, it won’t be Huck, since I doubt he runs.

Will it be Mitt Romney? Nope. Romney has flipped more than a fish out of the sea on social issues like abortion.

Sarah Palin? Most of the social conservatives will be voting for Palin anyway but they may cool to her, when she cozies up to lesbian Tammy Bruce (A Palinista BFF) and her friends at GOProud who support repeal of DADT and Gay Marriage.

Newt Gingrich? With his adultery baggage and the three marriages, very doubtful.

No, the social conservatives may bitch and moan (like Laura Ingraham and Brody) but will come around and support Mitch when his campaign catches fire. He is socially conservative enough to appeal to them in the GOP but does not wear it on his sleeve – much like Ronald Reagan.

    meghantweetsfat

Remember the Flap when Laura Ingraham and Meghan McCain (the Progressive Republican) had the “FAT” dust-up? And, Meghan told Ingraham to kiss her ass?

Then, there was the Jaba the Rush video from Al Gore’s Current video operation.

Now, Meghan is staying classy again.

    Update:

A follower on Twitter suggested I state the obvious but here goes: This is a PARODY.

Laura Ingraham Watch: Don’t Come In My Ear

Apparently embedding of the video has now been disabled re-enabled or you can watch it here

Outtakes from Laura Ingraham’s short lived Fox News Television Show, Just In

Flap has always enjoyed Laura Ingraham’s radio show. Radio is definitely a better venue for her talents than television.

    Flap’s recommendations to Ingraham:

    1. Less caffeine

    2. Eat regularly to avoid low blood sugar

    3. Lose the condescending attitude toward your staff
