Hillary Clinton Watch: Playing the Sexism Card

Michael Ramirez on Geraldine Ferraro and her Barack Obama race comment

Watching Geraldine Ferraro, the ever capable Hillary Clinton surrogate, rant about Barack Obama on Fox News and reading this piece in the Washington Post the Hillary strategy of “SINKING” Barack Obama is becoming clear: PLAY THE GENDER/SEXISM CARD.

Remember if Hillary cannot defeat Barack Obama this summer in Denver she can run again in 2012 (and be the presumptive Democrat frontrunner) should John McCain beat him in November (assuming due to age constraints John McCain only serves one term in the Presidency).

What better way to SINK Obama than playing the GENDER/SEXISM CARD. The Clinton Cabal plants the seeds of doubt that Obama cares about women’s issues and watches them grow.

Should Obama lose the support of white working class women, he is DONE.

Randi Rhodes in San Francisco where she called Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro “Fu***ng Whores

Randi Rhodes, suspended last week, has quit Air America and has landed a new gig with Clear Channel because she would NOT apologize for her San Francisco remarks.

She’s going to be signing a deal with Nova M Radio in the next few hours for about the same money Air America was paying her. She will broadcast Monday afternoon on all Clear Channel affiliates and several other stations. The folks at Air America don’t miss her one bit… She has moved from New York City to West Palm Beach, FL…

They’ve been planning since she was suspended but the deal is solid now…

Good luck with advertisers except maybe in San Francisco or Berkeley……..

Randi Rhodes in San Francisco Calls Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton whores

Air America suspended talk show host Randi Rhodes for the above remarks where she called former Congresswoman and Democrat Vice President nominee and Senator Hillary Clinton a whore.

Randi Rhodes, an afternoon host for the progressive Air America radio network, was suspended Thursday after repeatedly insulting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at an event last month.

Ms. Rhodes used vulgar language that likened Mrs. Clinton to a prostitute at an event sponsored by KKGN, the Air America affiliate in the San Francisco area, on March 22. A video of Ms. Rhodes’ remarks was published to the video-sharing Web site YouTube on Tuesday, prompting condemnations by some bloggers.

And, they wonder why progressive talk radio cannot sell advertising…….

Geraldine Ferraro Watch: Jeremiah Wright is a “Racist Bigot”

    ramireztoon031308web

Michael Ramirez on Geraldine Ferraro and her Barack Obama race comment

Geraldine Ferraro the first woman to be nominated as Vice President and former Congresswoman from New York is exacting some sweet revenge at the expense of Barack Obama.

You remember the FLAP, how Hillary Clinton was forced to disavow Ferraro’s comments regarding Barack Obama?:

“I think what America feels about a woman becoming president takes a very secondary place to Obama’s campaign – to a kind of campaign that it would be hard for anyone to run against,” she said. “For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her. It’s been a very sexist media. Some just don’t like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign.

“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” she continued. “And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.” Ferraro does not buy the notion of Obama as the great reconciler.

And, remember how Ferraro was forced to resign from Hillary’s finance committee?

Now, Geraldine Ferraro STRIKES BACK in this interview in the California Daily Breeze.

Former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro said today that she objected to the comparison Sen. Barack Obama drew between her and his former pastor in his speech on race relations Tuesday.

In the speech, Obama sought to place the inflammatory remarks of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright in a broader context, in part by placing them on a continuum with Ferraro’s recent remark to the Daily Breeze that Obama is “lucky” to be black.

“To equate what I said with what this racist bigot has said from the pulpit is unbelievable,” Ferraro said today. “He gave a very good speech on race relations, but he did not address the fact that this man is up there spewing hatred.”

Flap foresees a “woman scorned” mentality here and unless Obama apologizes to Ferraro this war of words may very well escalate.

    Other Key graphs:

    • Ferraro said she had “no clue” why Obama would include her in his speech, and said Obama’s association with Wright raises serious questions about his judgment. “What this man is doing is he is spewing that stuff out to young people, and to younger people than Obama, and putting it in their heads that it’s OK to say `Goddamn America’ and it’s OK to beat up on white people,” she said. “You don’t preach that from the pulpit.”
    • Ferraro also said she could not understand why Obama had called out his own white grandmother for using racial stereotypes that had made him cringe. “I could not believe that,” she said. “That’s my mother’s generation.”
    • In sum, however, Ferraro said she thought the speech was “excellent,” and said she understood why Obama could not renounce his association with Wright. “I think they got as far as they could go politically,” she said. “They’re looking at their base. Their base is African-Americans. They’re looking at that and they’re trying to walk a very thin line. They don’t want to offend the African-Americans, and this is the way he did it.”

    OUCH!

The Clinton Cabal KNOWS how to play HARDBALL.

The Geraldine Ferraro Flap – Is Ferraro Right?

Saying Barack Obama was lucky to be black may only have been one more ‘unfortunate’ statement in a string of beauts this election cycle.

The LEFT is all over Geraldine Ferraro’s comment in the Daily Breeze a few days ago:

The race issue is creating chaos in the Democrat Party and it is being fueled by the desperation of the Clinton Cabal in painting Barack Obama as the “BLACK” candidate.

    Well, he is.

Obama has won mainly in red states with large African American populations and lost to Clinton in larger Democrat blue states that have a more balanced population demographic mix. And. so what?

The argument the Clinton campaign is making through surrogate Ferraro is that Obama will NOT be able to win white voters particularly males in the general election. The appeal is to the Super Delegates who will decide the Democrat nomination.

Obama will be able to silence this argument should he win large white male majorities in the upcoming Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Indiana primaries. Flap doubts he will.

    After all, Ferraro is RIGHT.

Oh yeah, Flap forgot to mention that Ferraro quit the Clinton campaign yesterday after Hillary threw her under the bus.

    Wink Wink……
