Poll Watch: Mtt Romney Should Release More Tax Returns

According to the latest Gallup Poll.

A majority of Americans (54%) say Mitt Romney should release additional tax returns, while 37% say he should not, according to a USA Today/Gallup snapshot poll conducted Wednesday night. Predictably, Democrats strongly favor his releasing more tax returns, Republicans have the opposite view, and independents mirror the national tendency to favor Romney’s releasing more returns.

I am not too distressed that Romney has not released all of his tax returns.

We know he is very wealthy and like everyone has minimized his tax burden.

I am more concerned about the issues and what he plans to do his first few months in office – as everyone should.

This is a non-issue that President Obama is using to distract voter’s attention away from the abysmal job he has done during his term.

So, I do not think Romney will capitulate and will choose to ride out the flap.

Video: President Obama You Are Killing Us Out There

    From “These Hands”

In this hard-hitting Romney campaign video, the GOP Presidential contender asks the question:

    • Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy.
    • But President Obama’s comments last week show that he just doesn’t understand who the real job creators are.
    • How can he help small businesses when he doesn’t even recognize their value?

The Obama campaign may find the Roanoke comments, which were done off-teleprompter, the Waterloo of the President’s re-election campaign.

Mitt Romney Pushes Back Against Obama Insults to Small Business Owners

Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney gestures during a campaign event at Horizontal Wireline Services on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Irwin, Pennsylvania

Mitt Romney is starting to show some fight and is striking back at what some in the media are calling President Obama’s Roanoke gaffe.

In an attempt to change the subject from his tax returns and his tenure at the helm of Bain Capital, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney intensified his own rhetoric on Tuesday and called President Obama’s recent comments about small business “insulting to every entrepreneur, every innovator in America.”

Romney was referring to Obama’s remark on Friday at a campaign event in Roanoke, Va., where he argued that successful businesses happened not only because of individual achievement, but because people utilized parts of the public system, such as teachers, the Internet, and roads and bridges. Obama said, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

While agreeing that government-paid employees and infrastructure are needed, Romney said that those services were not responsible for the success of new business.

“The taxpayers pay for government,” Romney said to applause from a fired-up crowd of several hundred people at a gas and oil equipment company. “It’s not like government just provides those to all of us and we say, ‘Oh thank you, Government, for doing those things.’ No, in fact we pay for them and we benefit from them and we appreciate the work that they do and the sacrifices that are done by people who work in government. But they did not build this business.”

Romney broadened his argument to suggest that Obama’s logic demeaned those who were trying to better themselves.

“People who reach to try and bring themselves up, the president would say, ‘Well you didn’t do that,’ ” Romney said. “You couldn’t have gotten to school without the roads the government built for you, and you couldn’t have gone to school without teachers, so you’re not responsible for that success.’ Look, President Obama attacks success and therefore under President Obama we have less success, and I will change that.”

I am positive that Romney’s political shop has told him to show some heat and some passion. President Obama threw open an opportunity and Romney is taking it.

Many conservatives are saying, it is about time.

Has Mitt Romney Selected His Vice President?

Matt Drudge is pushing this New York Times piece that says that Mitt Romney has selected his Vice Presidential running mate and that he may announce his decision this week.

After a short-lived presidential bid of his own last year, Mr. Pawlenty is again being considered for the Republican ticket. His fate is in the hands of Mr. Romney, a rival-turned-friend, who is on the cusp of announcing his vice-presidential selection. Mr. Romney has reached a decision, his friends believe, and he may disclose it as soon as this week.

Mitt would be making a BIG mistake if he chooses former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty.

Pawlenty is boring on the campaign trail, was Governor of a “Blue” state (with no hope to win in 2012) and, well, is not distinguishable in any sense of the word.

Look at who is leading in the Drudge Report poll:

Almost any of the candidates would be better than Tim Pawlenty.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio would be my first choice with Rep.aul Ryan in second.

    What say you, Mitt?

If you want to win the Presidency, select either Rubio or Ryan. Even, Condi Rice would be a better choice.

Is Mitt Romney Too White for NAACP Address?

    Wow!

This Lefty group really knows how to sling the RACIST BS, now don’t they?

In advance of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s speech Wednesday to the NAACP, a liberal group headed by a former New York Times reporter and ex-Media Matters executive have produced a video “satire” that claims blacks don’t like Romney, who they dub so white he makes “Wonder Bread look like pumpernickel.”

The YouTube from “The Message,” an online “media hub,” is described as a satirical video of Romney getting advice on what to say to the civil rights group. Or, as they said in a release, the video “lacerates Romney and his advisors as they prepare for his speech to NAACP in Houston on Wednesday.”

The lead “advisor” in the video is described as the brainchild of the 1992 Willie Horton ads and the 2004 swift boat campaign. He states bluntly that “blacks don’t like us and we’re about to give a speech to a whole lot of them.”

I guess the LEFT feels that Romney must be beating President Obama with African-Americans? Or, can they just not help themselves in smearing Romney as a white racist?

President Obama’s campaign should apologize to Romney and tell the LEFT to back off.

    This is just BS.

President 2012 Poll Watch: Obama 47% Vs. Romney 47%

Obama+and+Romney President 2012 Poll: Romney Takes the Lead over Obama

According to the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll.

“The lack of movement underscores intense polarization — about nine in 10 Republicans back Romney, and a similar proportion of Democrats support Obama — and a relatively small percentage of voters say there is a ‘good chance’ that they could change their minds before November. At this point, 74% of all voters are ‘definitely’ supporting Obama or Romney, and 12% say it is unlikely that they will switch from one to the other, making the race a settled issue for nearly nine in 10 voters.”

In another poll, Romney has taken the national lead, albeit a slight one.

Mitt Romney continues to hold a whisker-thin 1-percentage-point lead over President Obama in a head-to-head election match-up, but the former Massachusetts governor is eating into the president’s air of inevitability, according to the latest The Washington Times/JZ Analytics poll released Monday night.

The poll found Mr. Romney leading 43 percent to 42 percent — about the same margin as the poll in May, but Mr. Obama slipped on several key measures, including fewer voters who say they expect him to win, and fewer who say they are voting for him because he’s the best candidate.

The White House can read the polls and this is why the President has been attacking Romney so early in the race. But, will it be effective?

    I doubt it.

The country is polarized and the election will come down to Ohio, Virginia and Nevada. Numerous ads have already been playing in those states and those folks must be sick of them already.

If the economy improves, President Obama will win re-election. If it doesn’t, he won’t.

    Quite simple really.

Swing States Poll Watch: Obama 47% Vs. Romney 45%

The Obama and Romney campaigns are already in full advertising mode – in a race that is virtually tied.

In the 12 battleground states, the race is all but tied. Obama leads Romney 47%-45% among 1,200 registered voters in the poll June 22-29 — a tick closer than Obama’s 48%-44% lead among 2,404 voters in the rest of the USA over the same period.

The swing states survey focuses on a dozen states that aren’t firmly aligned with either Democrats or Republicans. That puts them in a position to tip the outcome in the Electoral College. The states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The candidates expend enormous time and effort raising money in such cities as New York, Los Angeles and Houston so they can then spend most of that money on ads in such media markets as Colorado Springs, Orlando and Richmond, Va.

The ad wars in just a few states, rather than policy positions will decide the Presidency.

Remember the Electoral College decides the race and again, here is my prediction for November:

Obama Attacks Romney as Outsourcer in Chief

This is no great surprise and in fact, the issue was raised by Newt Gingrich during the GOP Presidential campaign.

President Obama is releasing ads in Iowa, Ohio and Virginia that rely on a recent Washington Post story to argue that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney would be an outsourcer-in-chief.

“The Washington Post has just revealed that Romney’s companies were pioneers in shipping U.S. jobs overseas,” each ad says.

The story reported that “[d]uring the nearly 15 years that Romney was actively involved in running Bain, a private equity firm that he founded, it owned companies that were pioneers in the practice of shipping work from the United States to overseas call centers and factories.”

Each ad begins with a clip from one of Romney’s recent “100 Days” ads, in which Romney revealed some of his plans for his first term. Those ads were tailored for various swing states, and Obama’s ads are too.

The Ohio ad focuses on Romney’s claim that he would stand up to China on his first day in office. “Romney’s never stood up to China,” the narrator says. “All he’s ever done is send them our jobs.”

The Virginia and Iowa ads highlight Romney’s job promises and ask if the state wants “an outsourcer-in-chief in the White House?”

This is the same campaign that California U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer used against Republican former Hewlett-Packared CEO Carly Fiorina in 2010. Except this time it is Bain and the ads will be run on sterioids.

But, will it be enough to distract voters from Obama’s abysmal economic record?

Here is one of the ads embedded below:
