No, not the fundraising RACE or another Straw Poll.

No, he is not leading the latest Gallup Presidential Poll.

He won this – Hands Down!

Maybe the RNC should send Ron Paul some money because John Podhertz is RIGHT.

Which brings to mind an interesting scenario for 2008: Could Ron Paul run an independent candidacy for president in 2008 on a libertarian/anti-war/anti-monetarist platform? At this moment, it seems plausible, especially if the Democratic party nominates Hillary Clinton, who is bizarrely considered a neocon hawk by the Left netroots.

And despite Paul’s nominal standing as a Republican — and it is nominal — wouldn’t his candidacy draw more from disaffected Democrats, as liberal Republican John Anderson’s 1980 third-party candidacy pulled voters away from Jimmy Carter and not from Ronald Reagan?

Works for me.

Ante up…….

Ron Paul’s First Television Ad

Ron Paul’s campaign for the Presidency raised more than $ 4 million yesterday (or close to this figure) but will he be able to produce the ads that will help him win?

But, translating the funds into persuasive television ads may be beyond Paul’s grasp.

Here is Paul’s second television ad:

Both ads are amateurish attempts that are not ready for prime time politics.

Is it the MEDIUM that is FLAWED or the MESSAGE?

If the campaign can convert the “MONEY BOMB” into a coherent message then watch the polls and see if Ron Paul gets a BUMP. Otherwise, the money raised is for NOTHING.

Update:

Paul over at Powerline says it is the message that is flawed and should be greeted with a “cold shoulder.”

Agreed………

Update #2

Allah poo poohs the fundraising effort saying Ron Paul continues to lag way behind the top tier GOP candidates.

News Item: Paul raises more than $3.5M in one day

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, aided by an extraordinary outpouring of Internet support Monday, hauled in more than $3.5 million in 20 hours.

Paul’s total deposed Mitt Romney as the single-day fundraising record holder in the Republican presidential field. When it comes to sums amassed in one day, Paul now ranks only behind Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton, who raised nearly $6.2 million on June 30, and Barack Obama.

But, money doesn’t buy you LOVE or an election – ask Barack Obama.

Why the outpouring of support for Paul?

• A protest vote?
• Frustration and/or opposition to the Iraq War?
• A Vendetta Against the MAN?
• Return to the Gold Standard?
• Hatred of the Federal Reserve and the United Nations?

Whatever it is, the Ronulans got off their keyboards and opened their wallets/debit-credit cards.

Well done and Presidential fundraising may NEVER be the same.

The Ron Paul campaign started the day around $2.77 million and looks like they will raise greater than $3 million FOR THE DAY. This is no small chunk of campaign change.

Flap wonders if ANY of the GOP frontrunners will try to emulate this success?

You have to give the Romulans credit here. They have a motivated base who open up their wallets.

Ron Paul Watch: Stumps for The November 5 Creep Show

November 2, 2007 /

Flap asked the question whether Ron Paul would embrace the November 5th fundraising creep show.

Ron Paul answered today – well sort of.

It’s sort of an odd allusion for a fundraising campaign in these days of hypersensitivity to terrorism, even if the Congressman it will benefit is running for president as a Libertarian Republican spoiler who wants to drastically change the way government runs in Washington.

But there was Ron Paul on the stump at Clemson in South Carolina telling a group of several hundred students and supporters, “Remember, remember the 5th of November.”

Paul clarified at the rally that he is not involved in this particular fundraising effort.

Ron Paul will disavow participation in this creep show fundraising event but will keep the money, right?

Where have we heard that before?

Well, it is the same answer that supporters of Ron Paul give to everything that seems weird or unseemly. The answer is becoming a habit.

By the way, the ad hyping this November 5th event and directing people to the website which then redirects people to Ron Paul’s official site where they can make a contribution remains on the Neo-Nazi discussion board, Stormfront.org.

But, Paul doesn’t have anythng to do with his either – but he will take the money.

Allah has more.

Ron Paul Watch: October Fundraising Goal Short $1.4 Million

November 1, 2007 /

paulnovember1aweb

Ron Paul has not reached his October fundraising goals by $1.4 Million or short by about 35 per cent.

Maybe all of his supporters are waiting for the November 5th fundriaising event.

In the meantime, Paul’s first television commercials are running in New Hampshire draining his campaign coffers.

Is this shortfall reflecting a decrease in support for the Paul Revolution? Or the inevitability of a losing campaign?

Ron Paul Watch: Criminal BOTNET Fueling Ron Paul Spam?

October 31, 2007 /

Republican presidential hopeful, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, speaks during the Iowa Republican Party’s annual Reagan Dinner, Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Des Moines, Iowa.

There is evidence that supporters of Representative Ron Paul’s Presidential campaign have been using “HACKED” computers called BOTNETS to enhance his internet presence.

Go figure……

The Ron Paul campaign denies the charge.

All Flap knows is the Ron Paul campaign becomes more strange/weird with each day.

Ron Paul Watch: Neo-Nazi Leader Don Black Donates to Ron Paul Campaign – The RESPONSE

October 30, 2007 /

pauloctober20hweb

The Lone Star Times FINALLY received a response from the Ron Paul for President campaign.

So, what did the campaign say?

Not much of a repudiation of the Neo-Nazi and his White Supremacist web site but just enough of a distancing.
They didn’t condemn Don Black and Stormfront.org but nor did they support them either.

The Stormfront folks cannot be too happy but if they are not raising RP alot of cash what does Ron Paul and his campaign care, right?

Hillary Clinton Watch: Weak General Election Prospects Against Ron Paul – A Foreboding?

October 30, 2007 /

Hillary Clinton, New York senator and Democratic presidential hopeful, right, points toward the audience as she sits beside husband and former President Bill Clinton at the Abyssinian Baptist Church, Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 in New York’s Harlem section.

Patrick Ruffini has it RIGHT.

What Flap would like to see is a polling breakdown by key states and purple counties. My guess is that Hillary will start slightly ahead in electoral college votes on February 5th when Rudy Giuliani wraps up the GOP nomination. But, fade in the summer.

The question will be what states Rudy will put in play early to sap Hillary’s campaign resources.

And, remember Norman Hsu will be on trial or in prison in California.
