Day By Day July 31, 2012 – Wild Things
Justice Robert was a big disappointment on ObamaCare and Justice Scalia’s comments on the Second Amendment are unbelievable.
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia outraged conservatives with his remarks on gun control and the Second Amendment this morning in a Fox News interview with Chris Wallace.
Scalia stated that the court may issue gun control rulings in the future due to “precedent” indicating that within the context of the 18th century the Framers of the Constitution allowed for local restrictions on guns and bans on certain types of weapons.
Conservatives immediately cried foul.
In the comment section of the story as reported by The Blaze, conservative reaction to Scalia’s remarks ranged from stunned to outraged.
I think the lifetime tenure of U.S. Supreme Court Justices should really be examined by the Congress and the states. I realize there would need to be a Constitutional Amendment, but it is sorely needed.
Justices serving for life become isolated and are not held accountable to the voters from which their power is derived.

Day By Day November 17, 2011 – On Speaker
A GOP message?Chris, there has been NO powerful narrative coming out of the Republican debates except that the GOP is full of a bunch of blathering fools who are prone to gaffes. Unfortunately, the Republican brand has been hurt by the lack of quality candidates in the Presidential election cycle.
Can we just speed ahead to 2016, please…..

Day By Day November 16, 2011 – Torture
Day By Day by Chris MuirThere is a definite disconnect between the television media and American voters. The REAL torture are the faux GOP debates.Plus, the televised GOP debates are nothing but “gotcha” stage shows without any real issue discussion. It is time for the Republican Party to set parameters for substantive and definitely fewer debates/discussions among its candidates.
The medium should not be allowed to drive the narrative. Waterboarding indeed….

Chris, the GOP alignment needs to reverse course —> to the RIGHT! -
Day By Day July 25, 2011 – Truck Stop
Notwithstanding Sam, but President Obama is throwing the American people under the bus in insisting on a debt ceiling deal that carries past the 2012 Presidential elections. Actually, he is playing Russian Roulette with the world-wide financial markets. The House GOP should send him a short term “all cuts” deal and dare the Democrats in the Senate and/or the White House to block it.
Then, the Dems/Obama break it, they OWN it.

Day By Day July 7, 2011 – What is it Good For?
Day By Day by Chris MuirChris, we have seen it time and again with the Obama Administration and the Democrats in Congress and the States. If there is a law that they do not wish enforced (like the DOMA) or a law where they are on a losing end of an issue (Wisconsin collective bargaining) they ignore the democratic process and exert their will anyway – sometimes by subverting their oaths and fleeig their own states. What kind of elected government is that?
Sounds like an authoritarian government to me.

Day By Day June 30 and July 1, 2011 – Just in Time
Good morning everyone as we prepare for a major holiday weekend, national fundraising numbers are filtering out of D.C.. Yeah Obama is able to raise some big money and everyone is waiting to see what Michele Bachmann is able to raise. And, California sales taxes, plus motor vehicle registration fees decrease because of the California GOP’s resistance to tax increases. Good job, California GOP.
As the POLS flee Washington and Sacramento for the 4th of July, we can have solace that it could be worse, since the NBA, NFL and the state of Minnesota are now effectively shutdown.

Talk about job killing regulations. But, I see that President Obama does know how to read the polls about gasoline prices and Americans being pissed off about them.
The White House will take a series of steps — including expediting drilling plans on government lands in Alaska — designed to show that the administration is serious about expanding domestic oil production and lowering gas prices.
President Obama announced Saturday the government would hold annual onshore lease sales in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve; extend the life of leases in the Gulf of Mexico and in some areas off the coast of Alaska for one year; speed up ongoing Interior Department testing in the mid- and south-Atlantic to gauge the level of resources; and establish an interagency task force to coordinate permitting for offshore drilling in Alaska.
The White House is making the policy shifts after taking intense criticism from Republicans in recent weeks over energy policy as gas prices have topped $4 per gallon in some parts of the country.
Guess Obama wants to be re-elected – shocking.
