- Mitch Daniels: Israeli-Palestinian conflict not central in Arab Spring – Mitch Daniels made a rare foray into foreign policy Thursday, arguing that the current climate in the Arab world has "little or nothing to do" with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Daniels, who is close to deciding on a White House campaign and recently said he's "probably not" ready to debate President Barack Obama on foreign policy, made the comments on Michael Smerconish's radio show, the same day that Obama gave a major address on Middle East policy.

Asked what approach he'd bring to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Daniels said: “I think that the — this may sound funny — but, the Arab-Israeli dispute, which has gone on for generations now and may go on for future generations, is not nearly so central to the events in that part of the world as sometime we treat is as."I’m not saying it’s not worth continuing to work on," the Indiana governor added, "but what is going on in the Arab world these days has little or nothing to do with Israel or Palestine, it has to do with tyrannical regimes which have really stifled prospects for their people who are now restless for a better life. I think that should be encouraged. I think that tyrants who suppressing this human urge to greater freedom and prosperity ought to be sanctioned at a minimum. … I don’t think right now it pays very much of a dividend to try to cut the Gordian Knot of Israel and Palestine."
- President 2012: Revving His Engines? Mitch Daniels Jump-Starts His Fundraising – While he has been publicly noncommittal about running for president next year, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels has quietly reignited his fundraising machine.
Beginning late last year, the two-term Republican flipped the switch on a long-dormant political committee, Aiming Higher, that is qualified to accept donations in unlimited amounts. Since late last year, he has raked in more than $675,000 in contributions from individuals and organizations across the country, including $250,000 from the American Federation for Children, a group that promotes school vouchers. Meanwhile, Daniels's better-known political fundraising arm, the Aiming Higher PAC, raised $2.2 million last year, when the term-limited Daniels was not on the ballot.

- The Colbert Super-PAC – Colbert is right on target with his satire. Free speech is such a headache when everyone gets to participate! Especially evil corporations, which spend huge amounts of money to manipulate politics for their own interests… in sharp contrast to noble left-wing organizations, which spend huge amounts of money to manipulate politics for the good of all mankind.
What chance does an innocent mind have against that ocean of corporate political cash? How can we tolerate such distractions from the vital messages conveyed by important left-wing campaigns filled with millionaire celebrities? The messages built directly into the popular entertainment that spills from millions of theater screens, television sets, magazine pages, and music downloads are not enough to raise public awareness to the level of true enlightenment.
We should absolutely have draconian laws to prohibit corporations from influencing public opinion. Except for media corporations. They should be the only corporations allowed to have any influence, and theirs should be unlimited. Why not? They don’t have agendas or anything.
Well, most of them don’t. There are just too darned many media corporations influencing opinion these days. You’ve got sinister operations like Fox, and then you’ve got virtuous White House-approved truth tellers, like Comedy Central and al-Jazeera. Fox routinely crushes its competition in the ratings, so its influence is obviously an unfair and dangerous exercise of evil corporate power. Look at how many helpless viewers wander into their clutches, night after night, to be exposed to all those dangerous ideas!

Shocker: Israelis Throwing Shoes at President Obama
An Israeli right-winger throws a shoe at an image of US President Barack Obama in protest at US pressure to halt the building of Jewish settlements during a protest outside the American embassy in Tel Aviv. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is under intense international pressure, especially from Washington, to renew a freeze on settlements construction in the occupied West Bank.Not really shocking since President Obama is NOT viewed as a supporter of the Jewish state of Israel. Note the spin of the MSm with the term of right-winger – whatever that means.
I thought Obama, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in his first year of office (without any real accomplishments in foreign policy) was going to be “The One” to heal America’s reputation throughout the world?
Uh……No.

Day by Day by Chris MuirAnd, then, there is Darwin’s special contribution to American politics, Vice President Slow Joe Plagiarizing Biden:Vice President Joe Biden offered the White House’s strongest defense yet of Israeli’s actions off the coast of Gaza this week in an interview with Charlie Rose airing tonight on PBS.
“I think Israel has an absolute right to deal with its security interest. I put all this back on two things: one, Hamas, and, two, Israel’s need to be more generous relative to the Palestinian people who are in trouble in Gaza,” Biden said, according to a transcript of the interview, in which he went on to discuss Hamas’s control of Gaza:
“[The Israelis have] said, ‘Here you go. You’re in the Mediterranean. This ship — if you divert slightly north you can unload it and we’ll get the stuff into Gaza.’ So what’s the big deal here? What’s the big deal of insisting it go straight to Gaza? Well, it’s legitimate for Israel to say, ‘I don’t know what’s on that ship. These guys are dropping eight — 3,000 rockets on my people,'” Biden said.
Out of the mouth of a true POL – constituency politics at its best or its worst.
In the meantime, Israel remains threatened and the Palestinian ordinary people suffer.

Part of the reason his opponents are having a field day is that Campbell has taken money ($2,000 in his Senate race in 2000, for example) from some very extreme characters, like Nihad Awad, the co-founder of CAIR, who has said things like “I’m in support of the Hamas movement†and (while speaking to the 1999 Islamic Association of Palestine convention) â€Fighting for freedom, fighting for Islam, that is not suicide. They kill themselves for Islam.†Most mainstream politicians professing support for Israel wouldn’t take money from such a person or go to the CAIR-headquarters opening.

Since Campbell already took the money and has been seen hob nobbing with terrorist sympathizers, perhaps he can turn to explain the following:
While campaigning in 2000, U.S. Senate candidate Tom Campbell called for a Palestinian state with a capital in Jerusalem, said that Israel received too much funding from the United States, argued that President Clinton was too pro-Israel, and recalled receiving a condolence phone call from Palestinian terrorist Yasser Arafat after he injured himself during a visit to the region.
The revelations come from an article that appeared in the October/November 2000 issue of the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs about Campbell’s run for Senate in 2000 against Dianne Feinstein.
Tom, you have alot of explaining to do…….and Carly Fiorina and Chuck DeVore are not both wrong in calling you out on your abysmal record toward Israel.
Just admit it.

A Jewish official who works on Capitol Hill sums it up:
“I am hard pressed to remember any member of Congress who targeted Israel’s aid to cut, voted the wrong way in an overwhelming bipartisan vote on Jerusalem, supported Hamas terrorist Same Al-Arian and others convicted of supporting Islamic Jihad terrorists – even appearing at rallies with Al-Aryian and others as the spewed their anti-Israel bile, took campaign cash from them, wrote letters on Al Ariyan’s behalf, spoke at CAIR events – a group notoriously hostile to Israel and which is at the heart of the Muslim Brotherhood’s efforts in America, and publicly supports Alison Wier – lately a purveyor of the organ harvesting blood libel against Israel. That is quite a public record. Now maybe Tom Campbell has become more pro-Israel than the Chief Rabbi on Minsk, but that would truly be the world’s most miraculous conversion. The facts are the facts. Mr. Campbell’s record speaks for itself and no amount of lipstik can pretty up this pig.â€

Shocker: Iran Will Have Means to Test Nuclear Weapon Within Six Months
In the meantime, the United States has allowed Iran to stall and develop their nuclear capacity despite countless United Nation’s resolutions.Iran is blocking U.N. nuclear agency attempts to upgrade monitoring of its atomic program while advancing those activities to the stage that the country would have the means to test a weapon within six months, diplomats told The Associated Press Friday.
The diplomats emphasized that there were no indications of plans for such a nuclear test, saying it was highly unlikely Iran would risk heightened confrontation with the West—and chances of Israeli attack—by embarking on such a course.
But they said that even as Iran expands uranium enrichment, which can create fissile nuclear material, it is resisting International Atomic Energy Agency attempts to increase surveillance of its enrichment site meant to keep pace with the plant’s increased size and complexity.
For Iran to amass enough fissile material to conduct an underground test similar to North Korea’s 2006 nuclear explosion, it would likely have to kick out monitors of the IAEA—the U.N. nuclear agency—from its one known uranium enrichment site at Natanz. Technicians then could reconfigure the centrifuges now churning out nuclear-fuel grade enriched uranium to highly enriched, weapons-grade material.
Iran is unlikely, however, to want to do that. Such a move would immediately set off international alarm bells and could bridge rifts on how strongly to react—Russia and China, which have resisted Western calls to increase pressure on Iran over its nuclear defiance, would likely endorse more sweeping U.N sanctions and other penalties.
With the U.N. nuclear agency strictly limited in its nuclear monitoring of Iran, the existence of a hidden enrichment site that could supply the weapons-grade uranium needed for a nuclear weapons test is also possible.
nternational Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed Elbaradei has repeatedly warned that his agency cannot guarantee that Iran is not hiding nuclear activities. Iranian nuclear expert David Albright on Friday put the chances that such a secret site exists at “50-50.”
The United States has screwed around while the centrifuges at Natanz have been spinning. Then, one day, either Israel will bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the secret ones or Iran will kick out the IAEA inspectors and declare it is a nuclear power.
You cannot say the United States and Europe have not known about the Iran nuclear subterfuge. They have just decided to do nothing.

Poll Watch: 23 Per Cent of Israelis Will Leave Israel If Iran Obtains a Nuclear Weapon
The test-firing of a new medium-range surface to surface missile in Iran on May 20. Iran’s former Revolutionary Guards chief Mohsen Rezai has warned he could stop Israel with “one strike” and said it would not dare to threaten the Islamic republic if he is elected president
Looks like Iran’s nuclear blackmail of Israel is already succeeding.Some 85 percent of respondents said they feared the Islamic Republic would obtain an atomic bomb, 57 percent believed the new U.S. initiative to engage in dialogue with Tehran would fail and 41 percent believed Israel should strike Iran’s nuclear installations without waiting to see whether or how the talks develop.
“The findings are worrying because they reflect an exaggerated and unnecessary fear,” Prof. David Menashri, the head of the Center, said. “Iran’s leadership is religiously extremist but calculated and it understands an unconventional attack on Israel is an act of madness that will destroy Iran. Sadly, the survey shows the Iranian threat works well even without a bomb and thousands of Israelis [already] live in fear and contemplate leaving the country.”
Israel had an opportunity a few years ago after the 2006 midterm American elections and would not or could not pull the trigger against Iran’s nuclear program.
Now, under Obama, Iran will continue to stall by negotiations until they reach Breakout Capability and then the nuclear blackmail scenario will be complete.
Bye Bye Israel……

Poll Watch: If Israel Attacks Iran 49 Per Cent Say United States Should Help
What is amazing to me is that 37 per cent say the United States should do NOTHING to help Israel.
Forty-nine percent (49%) of Americans say that if Israel launches an attack against Iran, the United States should help Israel. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 37% believe the United States should do nothing while just 2% believe the U.S. should help Iran.
Last summer, just 42% said the United States should help Israel while 46% said the nation should do nothing.
Sixty-four percent (64%) of Republicans say that the U.S. should help Israel as do 50% of those not affiliated with either major political party. A plurality of Democrats (44%) say that the U.S. should do nothing.
Interesting in that American Jews overwhelmingly are members of the Democratic Party. Yet, Democrats do not favor intervention with Israel.
The question is how this public perception will change as Iran becomes closer and closer to developing a useable nuclear weapon.
