Rielle Hunter and John Edwards No Longer a Couple

No surprise here for Rielle Hunter or John Edwards.

Rielle Hunter and John Edwards ended their controversial relationship last week, just days after her new book debuted and she went public about how they met, hid their affair and had a baby girl together.

“We are a family, but as of the end of last week John Edwards and I are no longer a couple. Not at all,” Hunter told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on “Good Morning America.”

When asked if she still loved Edwards, Hunter replied, “I do.”

Stephanopoulos asked if Edwards still loved her and she said, “You have to ask him. I think he does. I mean I feel that he does.”

Nevertheless, the couple split, she said, worn down by the scrutiny and pressure brought on by their high profile affair that began while Edwards was running for the 2008 presidential nomination.

“For me, for my part in it, it’s because I’m no longer interested in hiding, hiding our relationship, not living out,” she said. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’ve had a lot of media scrutiny. It’s complicated and it’s hard. It wears you down after a while.”

Hunter, 48, wouldn’t say whether one of them made the break.

“That’s private. We decided together to end it. It’s hard. It’s painful,” she said.

Maybe this long ordeal will be over and John Edwards can go back to taking care of his children, including the one with Rielle Hunter.

Talk about a political career melt down….

Video: John Edwards Indicted and Arrest Warrant Issued

If you think politics and politicians are bad, it only get worse with the John Edward’s story. Watch the video above for a complete and sordid timeline of the John Edward’s affair with Rielle Hunter.

A federal grand jury indicted former North Carolina senator and presidential candidate John Edwards Friday.

Sources tell ABC11 that Edwards will make his first court appearance at 1:30 p.m. in Winston-Salem.

The case of United States of America v. Johnny Reid Edwards contains six counts, including conspiracy, four counts of illegal campaign contributions and one count of false statements. A warrant for his arrest has been issued.

The federal indictment can be found here.

The indictment says he “did knowingly and willfully combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with others” to “accept and receive, while a candidate for federal office, contributions” “in excess of the limits of the Elections Act.”

The indictment says Edwards’ actions caused his campaign to file false campaign finance reports. It goes on to say the purpose of the conspiracy was to cover up the former senator’s affair with Rielle Hunter.

I covered this story many years ago and it was very obvious that Edwards was lying and covering up his affair with Rielle Hunter in order to save his political hide. He will have to plead guilty to a federal felony in order to avoid federal prison and be disbarred.

Wonder if Ms. Hunter will want him now?

John Edwards to FINALLY Admit Fathering Ex-Mistress’ Baby?

Maybe John Edwards can start paying some legal child support too.

Sources have told WRAL News that they expect former U.S. Sen. John Edwards to admit that he is the father of his former mistress’ 18-month-old daughter.

Edwards, a two-time Democratic presidential candidate, confessed last August to having an affair with Rielle Hunter, who served as a videographer on Edwards’ 2008 campaign. He has denied fathering her daughter, saying his relationship with Hunter ended before the child was conceived.

The name of the girl’s father isn’t disclosed on her birth certificate.

Andrew Young, a long-time Edwards aide, initially claimed to be the father of Hunter’s child, but he is reportedly writing a book in which he will claim Edwards is the father.

A federal grand jury is investigating whether Edwards’ campaign funds were illegally paid to Hunter to keep quiet about the affair.

Hunter spent nine hours last Thursday at the federal courthouse in Raleigh, where the grand jury was meeting. She brought her daughter, Frances, with her.

I guess calling Edward’s crooked ass before a federal grand jury will prime the truth pump, so to speak.

My bet is that Edwards will end up paying some substantial fines for using campaign funds to keep Rielle Hunter quiet about their affair.
