Day By Day August 19, 2012 – No Lie

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Chris, the report on a new Poltico book is that the Obama White House has already marginalized DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Many of Obama’s advisers have quietly begun questioning whether they should have picked Wasserman Schultz, an outspoken Florida congresswoman, as his DNC chairwoman. She has clashed with Chicago over her choice of staff and air-time on national TV shows — and they think she comes across as too partisan over the airwaves.

Obama’s brain trust secretly commissioned pollster David Binder to conduct an internal focus study of the popularity of top Obama campaign surrogates. Number one was former press secretary Robert Gibbs, followed by Cutter. Traveling press secretary Jen Psaki, who was added to a second study, was third. Axelrod, Plouffe and current White House press secretary Jay Carney were bunched in the middle. Wasserman Schultz ranked at the bottom.

As far as Sarah Palin – I don’t think anyone will be able to muzzle or marginalize her impact.

Today, the Washington media frenzy is all about some ridiculous/incredulous remarks from Rep. Todd Akin who is also the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate from Missouri. I wish we can tune him out and I somehow think he will be gone from politics by the end of the day.

    Or, at least should be….

Sarah Palin Watch: Readers Dumping Us Magazine Over Palin Cover

    usmagazinewithsarahpalin

Us Magazine is in trouble with subscribers angry over the above Us magazine cover. In fact, thousands are cancelling their subscriptions.

Three celebrity weeklies — OK!, People and Us Weekly — featured Sarah Palin on their cover, but one of those magazines is reportedly losing subscribers because of it.

Us Weekly, which unlike People and OK!, chose a rather caustic cover line (“Babies, Lies and Scandal”) is said to have lost thousands of subscribers in just the first 24 hours following the printing of the issue.

“I’m hearing it’s 5,000, maybe more,” says one well-placed source in the industry. Another source claimed that as many as 10,000 readers have already cancelled their subscriptions.

Is this surprising? The cover is biased crap that has no basis in reality. Why would anyone want to “PAY” to read this magazine.

Michelle Malkin has reader letters canceling their subscriptions and responses by Us Magazine desperately begging readers to stay.

Flap says Us Magazine readers must keep up the good work and cancel their subscriptions.

    Now, about Oprah?

Vice President contenders? Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Florida Governor Charlie Crist and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal

The “purely social”get together of Senator and presumptive GOP Presidential nominee John McCain at his Sedona, Arizona ranch Saturday with GOP leaders has “nothing whatsoever to do with the vice presidential selection process” according to Charlie Black, a key McCain campaign strategist.

    Right.

But, what is interesting is the emphasis (leak) now on Fox News that “other” perspective Vice President candidates have either ALREADY visited with McCain at the Hidden Valley Ranch, like Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty OR were invited this weekend and had other committments, like Mike Huckabee. Looks like the campaign was caught flat-footed on this “purely social” event.

Others mentioned to attend the Memorial Day weekend BBQ include:

    • Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina
    • Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas
    • Former e-Bay Chief Executive Meg Whitman
    • FedEx Corp. Chief Executive Frederick W. Smith

Ok, so maybe this is a “meet and greet’ and not a serious series of interviews. But, what better way to create some “BUZZ” over the Vice Presidential sweepstakes and at the same time begin the pundit vetting of potential candidates – all on the cheap of an Arizona BBQ grill.

So, Flap will go one step further and rip off this poll idea from Marc Ambinder except Flap will name names.

Vote for John McCain’s Vice President:
