Apparently, John McCain and Evangelical Christian leader Dr. James Dobson have patched up their differences.

Will Dobson show at the August 16 debate/forum at Saddleback Church between McCain and Obama?

   Getting an edorsement from Dobson is a double-edged swords. This may alienate the swing votes McCain needs to get to win.

   @Louise,

   I have to agree. I do not see any advantage to McCain in this announcement except that Obama has been cozing up to Evangelicals and this may give him pause in the south.

   Tacit but not a final endorsement of John McCain. Much, Dobson says, depends on McCain’s VP choice. Right wingers are hoping for Huckabee, but there are other choices that will be just as acceptable to Evangelicals. Look for Huckabee’s endorsemenet of McCain and his VP choice to carry far more wieght than Mr. Dobson’s, who we sincerely respect. I predict that at the end of the day the conservative vote will come out and vote strongly for John.
