Senator Ted Stevens, R-Alaska

Adios, Senator Ted Stevens.

Democrat pick up of this normally safe GOP seat.

Why didn’t the GOP replace Stevens prior to the GOP primary election?

Good riddance, if you ask me. And you’re right, he should have been replaced before the primary. But I don’t think anyone is the Senate has the courage to force Stevens to quit. I hope the people of Alaska don’t reelect a convicted man. We might lose this one seat, but unless the GOP cleans house and brings in some new blood, there’s going to be even more problems in 2010.

    Flap

Alaska’s voters should vote for the Alaskan Independence Party Candidate Bob Bird.

Stevens should withdraw and the Alaska GOP should push for Bird.
[except the GOP prefers the Democrat to an independent candidate]
