Flap’s Links and Comments for April 7th on 17:55
These are my links for April 7th from 17:55 to 18:38:
- Meg Whitman ex-housekeeper honored at LA Immigrant Rights gala – The former housekeeper of billionaire California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman is being honored at an immigrant rights gala in Los Angeles.
The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, which organized Thursday's fete, says Nicky Diaz Santillan's situation is similar to many illegal immigrant household workers.
The group is pushing for a state domestic workers' rights bill like the one that passed in New York last year requiring overtime pay for nannies, housekeepers and companions to the sick.
The Mexican-born Diaz Santillan claimed Whitman knew she was an illegal immigrant during the nine years she was employed, which Whitman denied.
The California Nurses Association helped Diaz Santillan make her story public, which helped sink the first-time Republican candidate.

What a crock of ……
What about deporting her as per the law?

- Mitch Daniels to greet Barack Obama tomorrow in Indianapolis – – When was the last time the Indiana airport saw so much presidential love?
Mitch Daniels, the governor and a potential presidential hopeful, will greet the actual president on the tarmac when he arrives in Indiana on Friday, a show of bipartisan hospitality from a Republican to a Democrat.

Just don't hug him, Mitch
