Cindy Sheehan: TV Campaign Against Bush Begins

The Huffington Post has Gold Star Families For Peace Launches New Ad Supporting Cindy Sheehan…

Gold Star Families for Peace, a coalition of military families whose loved ones have died in war, released a TV ad this morning featuring Cindy Sheehan asking the President “How many more of our loved ones need to die in this senseless war?”

The ad will air on Crawford and Waco cable channels near Bush’s ranch. Plans are in place to air the ad throughout August wherever Bush visits during his vacation.

“All I wanted was an hour out of his extended vacation time, but he’s refused to meet with me and the other military families,” said Sheehan. “We just want honest answers.”

Sheehan has refused to leave Crawford until the president meets with her. Over 700 people have showed up at her camp outside Bush’s ranch to show their support

Consoling a mother who has lost her son is never easy.

The Jewish World Report has Consoling a mother is never easy.

The president has talked to her once; she says now that he offered nothing to dull the dagger thrust into the most tender places of her heart and that in his attempt to console, he only made things worse. It’s not hard to imagine how anything anyone could say would deepen grief and make the hurt more acute. Losing Spc. Casey Sheehan was awful enough, and now the media exploitation of the mother’s grief threatens to disrupt the family circle.

Flap has the video of Cindy Sheehan’s ad here.

After viewing the ad it reminds Flap of the last Presidential campaign and the lefties calling Bush a liar. Lefties call everyone a liar.

There is no new material in the ad. No revelations – only the same old leftie anti-war crap. Bring the Troops home, Bush lied about WMD’s, Bush lied about Al Qaeda.

Yawn.

But, the media…… what better in a slow news cycle summer than to cover a spectacle involving the President.

Oh! Cindy Sheehan in her ad does NOT mention the fact that she has already met with the President.

And…. yesterday…..

The White House put out an accounting of all the meetings that Bush has had with families of the war dead — 900 relatives of 272 people who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sheehan met the president in June 2004 but said she deserves another visit since there have been so many revelations about faulty pre-war intelligence since then.

Flap agrees with Fred Barnes.

“My view is, is there any left-wing publicity hound who the media won’t build up? You have Joe Wilson, you have Bill Burkett, you know the guy that sold CBS on the story about Bush last fall and now you have this woman. This woman wants to go in and tell the President that the war is about oil because the President wants to pay off his buddies. She’s a crackpot, and yet the press treats her as some important protestor.”
