Barack Obama Watch: The ONE Goes to Europe

ramireztoon071808

Michael Ramirez on “The One”

Barack Obama, “The One” or “The Messiah” shuttles off to Europe and the Middle East on what amounts to a foreign photo opportunity and campaign rally abroad.

The Europeans will revel in Obama’s “rock star” persona but will it play so well in America’s heartland?

Not so much.

But, will Team McCain be able to capitalize on it?

Read an article in the Politico which says that the McCain campaign should lay off Obama while he’s abroad. Says it’ll looky ‘fussy’ if McCain complains about Obama seeking the limelight, especially if there’s pics of Obama shaking hands with European leaders. Best we can hope for is that Obama makes a gaffe all by himself.

I asked the very question in the McCain blogger call yesterday and they said since Obama attacked McCain while he was in Columbia (stupid McCain travel anyway).

Let McCain have his surrogates do the moaning about the One and McCain should pound Obama on domestic issues while he is out of the country.

    And, I do mean pound!

Obama is all hype! he has had 4 years in the Senate to go to Iraq on a fact finding mission and now he finally goes after all the opinions he has had. can the guy armchain quarterback this anymore? Lets face it e can’t leave iraq until it is stable. He has two options, change his stance and risk lossing the anti-war groups or don’t change his stance and end up lossing the election. Check out my blog http://road2serfdom.blogspot.com/

Silence Dogoods last blog post..The reason this is funny is because it is true.

I am excited, Obama will capture the world just like he has captured the hearts of Americans, His approval ratings abroad are already higher than can be expected. McCain is a great guy but over the last few years lost what it takes to become president vision. In 2000 he was ok with Roe V. Wade now he wants to change it, he voted against Bush tax cuts now he wants to extend them, he was a vocal proponent of the war, now he wants to finish it, ps. you cant complete a mistake without making a bigger one, John fought for what he believed was right then he realized that’s not the way the right wing of the party works, so he has compromised. I wouldnt vote for someone who doesnt stick with his convictions, Obama althought I dont agree with his stance on pro-choice, he doesnt change, he is consistent. He is a master at listening and soliciting support from all sides of the aisle. He is not afraid to speak his conviction, I cant wait to see him turn around the economy.

    @ Stephen

Oh please. BHO is a typical tax and spend liberal Dem with a good presentation. No different from Kerry, Mondale and all the rest.

He is inexperienced and wrong on many issues, including the Iraq War.

But, the European socialists will love him.

i don’t think mccain can do much to capitilise on obamas european/middle east tour. what ever he does, it will not be nearly enough to stop the whollopping he’ll recieve at election time. maybe if he was to become a democrat it may help alittle.

The election will be close but Obama has a leg up in a down GOP year.

McCain will not be whalloped or beaten badly – just won’t happen.
