Sarah Palin Selected As John McCain’s Vice Presidential Running Mate

U.S. Senator John McCain today announced that he has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate and to serve as his vice president.

Governor Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president. She has brought Republicans and Democrats together within her Administration and has a record of delivering on the change and reform that we need in Washington.

Governor Palin has challenged the influence of the big oil companies while fighting for the development of new energy resources. She leads a state that matters to every one of us — Alaska has significant energy resources and she has been a leader in the fight to make America energy independent.

   I’ve seen her interviewed in the past, and was impressed. She is to the point, and does not seem to lack confidence. It will turn out to be either a brilliant move or a disaster, depending on her performance on the campaign trail and in the debate.

   I am so relieved that Romney was passed over. I hope he goes home to count his money, and disappears from the political scene. America does not want him.

   Mitt Romney would have been the bigger disaster. McCain if he wanted to win needed to choose a conservative woman.

   As a Ron Paul supporter, I’ve been waiting a long time for McCain to reach out to conservative voters. His timing couldn’t be better. Here’s the response from the libertarian wing of the party.
