David Kernell, 20, leaves the federal courthouse Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 in Knoxville, Tenn. with his attorney Wade Davies, right, after pleading not guilty to hacking the e-mail account of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin

David Kernell faces additional charges in the Sarah Palin e-mail account hacking case (Via M/M).

Three more federal charges have been filed against a University of Tennessee student charged with hacking into the personal e-mail account of Sarah Palin, the Alaska governor and former Republican vice presidential nominee.

David Kernell, the son of a Democratic Tennessee legislator, pleaded not guilty to all charges Monday, and a magistrate agreed to push back his trial from May to October.

Kernell allegedly gained access to Palin’s account in September by correctly answering a series of personal security questions.

The new counts are fraud, unlawful electronic transmission of material outside Tennessee and attempts to conceal records to impede an FBI investigation.

An earlier indictment against Kernell was unsealed in October. He pleaded not guilty and was released on several conditions, including staying away from his computer except for school work.

Almost a year later, this MORON will be tried for hacking into the Alaska Governor and GOP Vice Presidential nominee’s private e-mail account.

Flap continues to wonder whether the Obama Administration’s Department of Justice will be concerned with the ‘Cuda’s right to privacy – especially when it involves the son of a Democrat POL?

5 Responses to “Three Additonal Federal Charges Filed Against David Kernell in Sarah Palin E-mail Hacking Case”

  1. Gary J says:

This kid is probably suffering major consequences from his own father, maybe worse than what the judge will hand to him in October. What is the point in hacking into Palin’s email account? Not much other than making his own father look badly. Unless his dad put him up to it, and is now playing innocent. Now that would be a story.

  2. John Sime says:

How is this “hacking” there was no code involved! You know what “Hacking tools” this guy used? Wikipedia and google. Thats it. If Sarah Palin wants to use a Yahoo account for political purposes, thats fine, but when you set the security questions, don’t be stupid! Palin deserved it.

  3. Flap says:

Illegal entry into a person’s e-mail account whether there is code imvolved or not is a federal felony. And, obstructing a FBI investigation is very serious.

If he is found guilty he WILL serve jail time and a long term of probation.

  4. Burzmali says:

Not it isn’t a felony, unless you do so to further another crime. Hence, the three additional charges.

  5. Flap says:

Wrong. If you had read all of the links you would have come across a copy of the original indictment.

Here is the direct link: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2008/1008081palin1.html

In any case, Kernell when he finishes this legal process, if found guilty, will be a convicted felon.

But, who knows what the Obama Justice Department will plead him down to.
