Karl Rove Watch: No TARGET of Investigation

Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove leaves his home in Washington on Friday, Oct. 14, 2005. Rove could make a fourth grand jury appearance as early as Friday, and prosecutors are warning him there is no guarantee he will not be indicted.

The ASSociated Press has Karl Rove Testifies in CIA Leak Probe.

Karl Rove testified for the fourth and final time Friday before the grand jury investigating whether his conversations with two reporters led to the leaking of a
CIA operative’s identity.

The White House aide spent about four and a half hours inside the federal courthouse, and left without commenting to reporters.

His lawyer, Robert Luskin, said Rove was told by prosecutors they likely would not need further testimony or cooperation from him and that they had no yet decided whether Rove should be charged criminally.

“The special counsel has not advised Mr. Rove that he is a target of the investigation and affirmed that he has made no decision concerning charges,” Luskin said.

Flap handicaps that Rove skates and that taxpayers will have paid the tab for another worthless special investigation and special prosecutor.
