    Hi Flap –

This is why I love reading your blog. You link to Laura Ingraham’s book “How Elites from Hollywood, Politics, and the UN are Subverting America.” But Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are the very essence of the NASCAR-watching, good-old-boy, God Guns and Gays GOP. They are both originally from Katrina-ravaged areas and as country music icons, they are at the heart of the Republican party. If they are jumping ship, then Bush and the GOP better see a serious canary in the coalmine on this one. It is NOT a bunch of “Hollywood elites” listening to Faith and Tim – its Bud-drinking, Hemi-driving, Bush-voting Republicans.

But you can go ahead and slam them, and you might as well throw in William F. Buckley Jr., the father of modern conservatism (or is he just another “Hollywood elite”???:

And the administration has, now, to cope with failure…Mr. Bush has a very difficult internal problem here because to make the kind of concession that is strategically appropriate requires a mitigation of policies he has several times affirmed in high-flown pronouncements. His challenge is to persuade himself that he can submit to a historical reality without forswearing basic commitments in foreign policy.

All I can say.. is go Faith Hill! I’m from La. and the president has done nothing so far to really help cleanup or well anything. He needs to get off his butt and help.. but that’s be asking too much!

For those who haven’t witnessed everything first hand.. then you can’t say a thing. Faith Hill and Tim are speaking up for their home states and I applaud them!

The Congress and President have appropriated billions for Hurricane Katrina relief.

Faith Hill and her husband had better stick to singing and leave politics to the Dixie Chicks.
