MCCAIN-CLINTON LOVE-IN AT BASE
Looks like things are getting serious in the race for the White House – seriously lovey-dovey, that is.
Judging from this photo, the spirit of bipartisan cooperation appeared to be alive and well yesterday between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and John McCain in Texas.
The image of the two friendly front-runners was taken at a dedication ceremony for The Center for the Intrepid – a new $50 million rehabilitation center for soldiers who lost limbs or were severely burned in the Iraq war.
AP: Clinton, McCain laud veterans at ceremony
Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and John McCain, both 2008 presidential hopefuls, joined military leaders and others Monday at a dedication ceremony for a rehabilitation center designed to treat the growing number of severely wounded Iraq war veterans.
Clinton and McCain, members of the Senate Armed Services Committee, thanked the wounded for their service at the Fort Sam Houston event attended by about 3,200 people including singer John Mellencamp and celebrities Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Pfeiffer.
The cause is good because their fight is NOBLE.
But, the assorted Leftys around McCain – please GAG ME with a spoon.
Is there any wonder why many in the GOP do NOT TRUST McCain?
Aides said the warm exchange between the two candidates should come as no surprise.
They have been friendly since a congressional trip to Estonia in 2004 when, according to legend, the former first lady got in a vodka drinking contest with McCain and other male senators.
GAG ALERT
