President 2008,  Rudy Giuliani

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Contrast in Florida

Rudy talked with Fox News’ Chris Wallace about the wide open race in Florida, his plan for the largest tax cut in American history, his commitment to restoring the Everglades and his plan for a national catastrophe fund.

Rudy on the Attack or Contrast in Florida?

Probably depends upon how much the other candidates engage the Mayor.

John McCain has not done much in the state and Huckabee will work the Mega-Evangelical churches. Will either of them do much more in the way of retail politics and ignore the Super Tuesday February 5 states to Romney?

Mitt Romney is the only other candidate running consistent paid media in Florida.

Giuliani should be able to capture the win in a four way race and move on to the Super Tuesday states where he will pick up many delegates on his home turf in the northeast.

Romney was running ads in Florida for months prior to pullling them before the Michigan primary. I am sure he will be up with more ads in Florida. I don’t think Romeny has a chance to carry Florida. It will be between Rudy and McCain. Of course the talking heads ( including Bill Kristol ) think Rudy’s Florida strategy will backfire. I might add, Kristol has always been the McCain camp.

I don’t know why Floridians would choose McCain over Rudy, but then again I didn’t think voters would tend to coalesce around McCain to the extent they have up to this point in time.

Bill Kristol is a loser and his Weekly Standard is about as weak as National Review.

If McCain is the nominee he will lose to Hillary Clinton like Bob Dole did to Bill.

Rudy has to work hard and can be successful but I am convinced should he lose Florida then the Presidency just went over to the Democrats.

I don’t think I could vote for McCain or Romney.

Rudy is doing awesome in FL. He has the only GOTV on the ground throughout the entire state. Early voting and absentee ballots are going Rudy in large numbers especially in the three South Florida counties.

Any other Republican out there ever think you would be rooting for Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties to vote in large numbers after 2000. I know I didn’t until this year when the three counties became Rudy Country.

None of the other candidates have a ground presence that comes close to Rudy. McCain has little with little money; Romney has almost none with big bucks to advertise but is concentrating in Tallahassee (?) (2/3 Dem) and along the military bases of the Gulf Coast (?) — both make no sense. Have friends at some of those bases who love it he is wasting his time there because they remember Romney comparing his five sons working in his campaign to the military serving overseas.

    FLORIDA is RUDY Country!

I believe Rudy Giuliani will win Florida because he is the only fiscal conservative in the 2008 Republican Presidential primaries. McCain is not a fiscal conservative because when he had two chances to support tax cuts he did not do it by voting against President Bush’s tax cuts of 2001 and 2003. In addition McCain voted against the permanent repeal of the Death Tax. Rudy Giuliani as Mayor of New York City cut taxes 23 times and will cut taxes as president.
