Rudy Giuliani Loses Florida – Set to Endorse Florida Winner John McCain in California Tomorrow

Republican presidential hopeful former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, right, with his wife Judith, speaks to a group of supporters at a Florida Primary election night party in Orlando, Fla., Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008

Rudy Giuliani lost his “FIREWALL” state of Florida today and most probably  WILL end his quest for the Presidency. Moroever, rumors are circulating that Rudy will soon endorse John McCain.

In fact, Fox News is now reporting that Rudy is on his way to California where tomorrow he will drop out of the Presidential race and endorse Senator McCain.

These developments are not a surprise to Flap in light of today’s disappointing loss.

Flap will have more as developments are announced and a post-mortem of the Giuliani campaign.

Disappointing showing in Florida. Maybe some day you can explain to me why the following occurred:

    1) Why the late freefall of Rudy in the polls?

    2) Why have voters coalesced around McCain?

On the second point, the GOP has a history of supporting “next in line candidates ” and perhaps McCain is seen as such a candidate, since he ran in 2000 and voters see him as a fall back choice.

It would also appear that Rudy’s strategy was the wrong one, but maybe it was the only way he could go.

Regarding Rudy’s endorsement of McCain, I assume part of it is because of the animosity other candidates have against Romney–anybody but Romney endorsement by Rudy.

Rudy did good for a while, but he has to realize that his reach is not as great as he imagined. Certainly he was THE mayor in 9/11, but that does not lead to the presidency.

I think it’s now safe to say that John McCain is the Republican Presidential nominee. For better or for worse. Like it or not. So the only question that remains is, do you want to get him elected or not?

Ling I think you have a point about the inevitability of a John McCain nomination. Rudy’s endorsement tomorrow virtually delivers a lock on California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania for McCain.

Mitt Romney can write more big checks but all of Rudy’s donors will write checks for McCain.

      McCain will be the nominee.

    Nascar,

I don’t but your explanation. Surely you are not suggesting that McCain has more of a rccord of accomplishment and leadership than Rudy? Rudy’s record goes much beyond 9/11.

Dennis, “Nascar” can discount all of Rudy’s accomplishments before 9/11 all he/she wants..

He has more real accomplishments than ANYONE in the race.

Rudy does not have a relationship with his children. He cheated on his wife. He employed a crooked soon to be felon as commissioner for the Dept of Corrections and then Chief of police for the City of New York. He is under indictment and Kerik was also his business pardner. Poor choice and if your hands is clean then at the least
he was a bad judge of character. Can America have some one in charge that make so many bad decisions .
Prior rto 911 Rudy was not loved in NY…..After he ran and his closet door was open
the world got to see who he really was and showed him we are not interested.

    Katrina,

First, you should learn to spell. Second, he has a relationship with his children. Third, he was a great mayor for the City of New York, who completely turned the City around ( and who was elected to a second term ). Lastly, he takes full responsibilty for recommending Kerik has Homeland Security Chief. Apparently you don’t know that Kerik was a decorated police offier, who also did an outstanding job as Commissioner of Corrections and Police Commissioner.

Rudy is a great leader with an unmatched record of accomplishments.
