Mike Huckabee Watch: The New Iowa GOP Frontrunner
Presidential hopeful and former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee, left, and his wife Janet Huckabee, address supporters during a campaign stop at the Spartanburg Gun Club in Pacolet, S.C., Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007. Huckabee is rising from a little-known Arkansas governor to a serious contender for the Republican presidential nomination and so, too, are the number of inquiries he’s facing over his ethical lapses, tax increases and unwavering support for a rapist, later convicted of killing a Missouri woman.
Is Mike Huckabee the NEW frontrunner in Iowa?
- Mike Huckabee – 28%
- Mitt Romney – 25%
- Rudy Giuliani – 12%
- Fred Thompson – 11%
- Ron Paul – 5%
- John McCain – 4%
- Tom Tancredo -4%
- Duncan Hunter – 1%
Holy Smokes, Batman, Mike Huckabee now leads in Iowa.
From Rasmussen: Forty-eight percent of Evangelical Christians support Hucakbee. That’s more than all the other candidates combined. Romney attracts 16% of the Evangelical vote.
Did you catch the Evangelical number? That’s called ‘lapping the field.’ Let’s think about this for a moment. If Huckabee actually wins Iowa, then he gets the slingshot effect going into New Hampshire. With his sunny personality, non-threatening manners, humor, and media-savvy skills – anything is possible.
Isn’t politics full of surprises?
