John McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
A supporter of Republican presidential candidate US Senator John McCain holds up a sign at Mi Tierra Restaurant in San Antonio, Texas, March 4,2008.
With the results of today’s GOP primary elections in Rhode Island, Vermont, Ohio and Texas, Senator John McCain has won sufficient delegates to be nominated by the Republican Party as its Presidential nominee.
John McCain clinched the Republican presidential nomination Tuesday, an extraordinary comeback for a candidate whose White House hopes were dashed eight years ago and whose second bid was left for dead eight months ago.
“The most important race begins,” he said in an Associated Press interview.
Congratulations to Team McCain.
The campaign for the Presidency begins tonight.

Hillary Clinton Watch: Race Baiting Obama?
Side by Side: Left is the Clinton Ad and R from a Democrat Debate
The Nutroots over at Daily Kos seem to think so.
Look at the two videos.
First, the Hillary Clinton ad:

Now, Obama at the Democrat debate in Ohio:

Obama definitely looks darker in the Clinton ad. Flap doesn’t know about any intentional racism here but……
The Clinton campaign has some explaining to do………

Tom McClintock Declares for Congress
State Sen. Tom McClintock uses the steps of the historic Placer County Courthouse to announce his candidacy for the 4th District congressional seat being vacated by John Doolittle.
California State Senator Tom McClintock (R- Thousand Oaks) declared this morning he is a candidate for Congress (CA-4) and former California state Senator Rico Oller withdrew from the race and endorsed McClintock.
“I’ve heard your voices. I’ve heeded your advice. I’m here today to ask for your consideration for U.S. Congress,” McClintock announced in front of the historic Auburn courthouse.
McClintock, a longtime Republican lawmaker from Southern California, will face former U.S. Rep. Doug Ose in what could be a bitter GOP primary to replace John Doolittle, a nine-term incumbent who is not seeking re-election.
The race will be an interesting one and expensive. McClintock currently lives outside the 4th district and represents Ventura County in the California State Senate. He will have to defend himself against the carpetbagger issue.
Flap thinks Tom will have a relatively easy time in winning this GOP primary election in June. Whoever wins the GOP primary will win the general election (Republicans outnumber Democrats by 17 % in registration).

John McCain Watch: 3 AM Ad Channels Cindy McCain
Republican presidential hopeful, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and his wife Cindy, take part in a campaign stop at the Mi Tierra Restaurant in San Antonio, Texas, Tuesday, March 4, 2008.
Cindy McCain weighed in today on Hillary Clinton’s 3 AM ad.
“Everybody’s talking about that call at 3 o’clock in the morning,” McCain said, speaking at the start of a town hall meeting in a Houston bbq joint. “I want him to represent my son at 3 o’clock in the morning.”
Prominently displayed on her turtleneck was a blue star flag pin just above a “USMC” broach.
The McCain’s youngest son, Jimmy, is in the United States Marines and just finished a tour in Iraq. Their older son, Jack, is in Annapolis.
Although Flap does not suspect the McCain progeny will campaign actively for their father, I suspect some mention and video of their service will appear somewhere along the campaign trail.
Can either Hillary or Obama match this?
Here is the 3 AM ad again:

Didn’t Flap say this ad by the Clinton campaign channels John McCain?

Hillary Clinton Watch: Leading in Texas and Tied in Ohio?
Democratic presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton greets supporters at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, March 3, 2008.
The latest polls have Hillary Clinton leading in Texas and tied in Ohio.
Will Hillary be the “Comeback Kid” after 11 straight losses to Barack Obama? Or will there be a split decision tonight?

Big election today.
John McCain may be able to wrap up the GOP nomination. Why Huckabee is lingering on is anyone’s guess.
Looks like Texas will be a showdown state between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. How Texas falls is who will be the Democrat nominee according to CW.
Remember if you are a Republican in Texas – Vote Hillary!
