In the first week of the general election Presidential race where do the candidates stand?

  • Barack Obama – 304 Electoral Votes
  • John McCain – 234 Electoral Votes

270 Votes wins the Presidency

The battleground states are clear. Should John McCain win Michigan (17 Electoral Votes) and Ohio (20 Electoral Votes) on the map above he wins 271 Electoral Votes and is the next President of the United States.

Flap thinks McCain will be campaigning in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania where Hillary Clinton beat Obama, especially with white working class voters the majority of the time. And, this may be an indication as to why McCain chooses Mitt Romney as his Vice President – Michigan.

Stay tuned…….

Here we go again. McCain will not choose Romney as VP. He would have a more negative impact than a positive one. Moreover, credible sources say that McCain does not trust the phony, transparent Romney.

McCain needs a VP who can shake things up, since it is very apparent that he is in an uphill fight to win the White House. A rich white guy who is a member of the LDS religion won’t do it .

I agree McCain will most likely not choose Mitt Romney. But, looking at statewide races where does Romney hurt McCain?

There was discussion and posturing over at Race42008 about this and no one REALLY provided any evidence that Romney hurts McCain.

If the race comes down to Michigan,Ohio and Pennsylvania I do not see anyone who helps McCain more.

    Do you?

Difficult to say, cause Romney does help in Michigan, but McCain has a bit of an independent streak. I mean, if the party bigwigs are pushing Romney, McCain will like as not dig in his heels and choose someone else.

After Obama chooses his running mate in late July then the polling will decide who McCain chooses.

Have you guys watched the McCain campaign policy briefing?
