Mitt Romney Rips Huckabee and McCain for Iowa Absences

Republican presidential hopeful, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, speaks to media at a at Bettendorf Middle School in Bettendforf, Iowa, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, the last day of campaigning before the Iowa caucus.

Mitt Romney in classic combative style derided Mike Huckabee’s leave of Iowa to Los Angeles (actually Burbank, California)for this afternoon’s taping of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Romney also attacked John McCain who just returned to Iowa today after campaigning in New Hamsphire for the past week.

“Welcome to Iowa, senator,” Romney said, before repeating his recent criticism of McCain’s past opposition to President Bush’s tax cuts and support for last summer’s controversial immigration reform bill.
