No big surprise here except Tom Campbell probably won’t support it (or I will be surprsied that he will) and Chuck DeVore will claim he was the first and only true blue supporter of neutering public employee unions in California.

From the press release:

During a speech at the Fairbanks Republican Women Federated meeting, U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina will  announce her position on the Citizen Power Initiative. She will also discuss her background, her candidacy for U.S. Senate and her commitment to job creation, economic recovery and controlling government spending.

WHO:        U.S. Senate Candidate Carly Fiorina

WHAT:       Speech About Citizen Power Initiative And Priorities For California

WHEN:      Tuesday, February 9, 2010
                  12:00 p.m.

WHERE:    Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines
                  10950 North Torrey Pines Road
                  La Jolla, CA 92037

At the event, Carly will deliver remarks and then take questions from the attendees. Following the meeting, Carly will hold a brief media availability with press in attendance.

The website for the initiative is here.

I’ll be voting for the measure but look for the public employee unions to spend millions to defeat it. What will be their issue? Taking away the little guys right to fight “the man” by organizing and pooling their union dues as political contributions.

Fox News Pundit Dick Morris

Note no mention of Carly Fiorina’s GOP Primary opponents Chuck DeVore or Tom Campbell.

Here is another clip of Morris on Sean Hannity’s radio show.

In this clip, as well, Morris states that Carly Fiorina will beat Barbara Boxer in November.

daybyday020810 Day By Day February 8, 2010 - Obamas Crib

Day By Day by Chris Muir

I was actually surprised when Sarah Palin delivered her address to the National Tea Party Convention this past Saturday evening in that she did not use a teleprompter. She gave such a great and seemless speech two summers ago at the Republican National Convention in Minnesota via teleprompter. Did she discard the mechanical device to contrast herself from Obama?

And, now the LEFT is carping about Palin writing a few notes on her hand during the  Q & A.

While I agree the Left’s freak out over Palin’s hand note is getting silly, people should at least be honest in addressing the issue at hand, if you will. Quote below from Founding Bloggers. The notes had nothing to do with her speech. They were for the Q & A, which is when she actually referred to them. She read the damned speech, doh!

Chris, should there be a teleprompter falure for the President, Obama is sunk and impromptu (non-scripted) Q & A debate sessions with Hillary Clinton as the foil were not pretty. How about his nationally televised news conferences? Plodding at best.

Why is everyone comparing Sarah Palin, a media pundit now, to the President anyway?

One wonders if the race for the Presidency in 2010 has already started.

  • California's Democratic Party just debuted Carlyfailorina.com, a website devoted to ripping US Senate candidate Carly Fiorina as the "19th Worst CEO of All-Time."

Not to get all nit-picky, Dems, but Ms. uh, Failorina, as you refer to her, is running for SENATE. Not "governor," as you state on the site.

We've got 12 percent unemployment in the state. Give us a call. We know a lot of laid-off copy editors who would love the work.

Could it be that the Dems may be a little TOO pre-occupied with the Republican billionaire and (near-billionaire)running against their candidate….uh…uh…oh, yeah, they don't have a declared one yet.
    +++++++
    Well, make up your mind….

  • Starbucks has brushed aside a request from a gun control advocacy group to ban the display of guns in its retail locations, saying it will abide by laws that allow patrons to openly carry unloaded weapons.

The national Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence made the request in the wake of a series of meetings in local restaurants over the past few months by Bay Area Open Carry, a group that hopes to make it legal to carry loaded guns in California. Peets Coffee & Tea and California Pizza Kitchen responded to similar requests by banning displays of weapons in the companies' coffeehouses and restaurants.

daybyday020710 Day By Day February 7, 2010 - Snowjob

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Wonder if any media types will be invited today to the White House since with the snow their Direct TV statellites may be inoperable because of the snow?

The Obama Administration will have to work overtime in the PR department now that the bloom has come off the Obama rose.

As Sarah Palin mentioned last night – the hope and changey thing…..

Somehow, I think the race for 2012 started last night with Palin’s Tea Party Convention speech.
