Imus v. Brewer
Has Don Imus lost it?
Last Friday this is what he had to say about former newsreader and current MSNBC reporter Contessa Brewer:
“With that fat ass she’s got, she wouldn’t be one of ’em,” Imus said on the air Friday. “That skank has to spend three hours with makeup in the morning … Who’s she kidding? . . . Plus, she’s dumber than dirt … Oh, my God, what a pig. But I was willing to cut her some slack and not say anything, you know, until – in fact, I didn’t say anything . . . That’s why they have those big double-doors there at MSNBC, you know, so they can get her fat ass in makeup.”
I guess he was sore because this is what she said about him:
Don Imus didn’t like being called “a cantankerous old fool” by MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer on PAGE SIX. Brewer, a former news reader on Imus’ show, also said the I-man doesn’t know how to relate to “beautiful women.”
Brewer’s assessment about Imus may be correct.
Imus’s assessment about Brewer’s appearance is …… well way off……..

I'm still new at this trackback thing, and so despite efforts to leave you one, it did not work. But I have a post on this subject.
Anyways, let me point out Rush Limbaugh's rule for a joke. And since he's a famous joke-meister, I'll use him as an expert witness. It has to have some element of truth in it in order for the joke to be funny.
Both you and I look at a picture of Ms. Brewer, and Imus's comments about her being a 'fat skank' fail the other laugh test. They merit a condescending chuckle as he helps prove Ms. Brewer more effectively than she did on her own.
