KLo: Waiting might prove best strategy for Rudy Giuliani

Abstinence educators and responsible parents teach young people to resist the urge for instant gratification. When it comes to the Republican presidential field, a similar strategy of waiting may prove fruitful for Rudolph Giuliani.

Of course, Rudy 2008 would be well advised to avoid the subject of sex — an area that highlights his troubled personal past and not-so-conservative positions on reproductive issues. But if Rudy can be patient and practice political abstinence as his rivals engage in hot combat, the former New York City mayor could prove to have a leg up in the 2008 Republican race.

Mayor Giuliani has been leading in almost ALL public opinion polls – primary, general election and favorability – against all comers GOP and Democrat.

Why should Rudy have to play inside gotcha politics of self-destruction for the GOP? Why does Giuliani have to ignore the GOP’s 11th Commandment:

â€œThou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.â€

Giuliani: “I think the biggest question you have to ask is, ‘Can you really lead the country?’ If I believe that I can do it, then I will, and if I don’t, then I’ll support somebody else.”

Flap reassures the pundits in DC. – Rudy is running and organization is coming into place – even in California. Remember Rudy is LEADING in the polls without campaigning, media buys or other inside political baseball.
