U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) (R) and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) speak about the war in Iraq on Capitol Hill in Washington, April 18, 2007.

“War in Iraq lost”: US Democrat leader

The war in Iraq “is lost” and a US troop surge is failing to bring peace to the country, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress, Harry Reid, said Thursday.

“I believe … that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week,” Reid said, on the same day US President George W. Bush was giving a speech at an Ohio town hall meeting defending the war on terror.

First, Senator Reid is WRONG.

Second, then Senator, you will support cutting off the fundng for the troops in Iraq in order to bring them home.

Right?

Up or down vote, Senator?

Update:

From Senator Mitch McConnell, GOP Minority Leader of the U.S. Senate:

“I can’t begin to imagine how our troops in the field, who are risking their lives every day, are going to react when they get back to base and hear that the Democrat leader in the United States Senate has declared the war is lost.”

  1. Another classic case of the Dems trying to form and influence popular opinion for their gain… which will eventually lead to their loss anyways. I don’t get why they just don’t learn. Does Vietnam ring any bells?

  2. Btw, new reader here. Good blog! I don’t see many dentists out there that are blogging (I’ve tried to find others)… even about dentistry, much less politics and other things. Very cool!

  3. Yes, there are not many dentists who are blogging but check out my blog roll. There are some albeit many are not updated daily.

  4. My God this man needs surgery…Dental, Mental, and cosmetic. If he hangs around the green zone too long, it’s a bet.
