Mitt Romney’s Campaign on Evolution

Kevin Madden, Mitt Romney’s spokesman has responded to The Brody File question on whether Mitt Romney believes in Evolution. I wanted to know his thoughts about it because at the debate the other night only three candidates raised their hand expressing doubt about Evolution. Romney was not one of those candidates. Here’s the Romney campaign response:

“Governor Romney believes both science and faith can help inform us about the origins of life in this world.”

And what does this ALL mean?

It means the SLICKSTER Romney – there he goes again……..

Let’s see:

Illegal aliens mowing his lawn

Flip on Abortion

Flip on Gay Marriage

Lied about hunting

Scientology book one of his favorites

Mitt is just a PANDERING………..

I’m very religious, my son is a scientist at Harvard and I believe very strongly in both: a creator and evolution. Read the book by Francis Collins. He’s a brilliant scientist who also believes in God. As Francis puts it, Science tells us how, Religion tells us why.

I don’t understand your anger against Mitt Romney. Just support the candidate you want.

  • Flap

Well, I am religious and have two degrees in science but religion and science are based on different realities.

Mitt Romney has to tell the voters what he believes. Instead he changes his voice and message depending upon to whom he is pandering for votes.

And I am supporting the candidate I want: Rudy.

  • TK

Flap, why spend your time on anti-Romney blogs, why not spend your time on Rudy support with education about his record and raising money?

  • Flap

I write what I feel is important about the candidates.

Romney has too many negatives and I would never support him for President – as I have written before.

    And, I write about Rudy – alot……

  • TK

How do you feel your candidate did in the debate? I know Rudy’s poll numbers have been dropping since January and it appears the debate hasn’t helped him. A NH poll today shows Mitt with a good lead over RG and JM. Of course polls are just a snap shot in time, right now the important thing is the trends.

Rudy also seemed to struggle with his answers on the debate, especially abortion. Before the Supreme Courts decision he supported a woman’s right to choose even if it means a partial birth abortion. At some point in time a right to choose changes to legalized murder. I have to say I’m very happy with the Supreme Courts decsion. I also find it weak that Giuliani feels he can’t or won’t do anything to influence changes in abortion laws.

As I have looked at the republican roster, I struggle with a candidate who’s personal life is messy at best. If he can’t manage his family how is he going to manage a country? The best prediction of future behavior is past behavior and I don’t think his past behavior is very good. How long would it take before his first lady now shares a spotlight with his first mistress. I don’t think the American people are ready for another oval office scandal.

This seems like a very difficult election year and I’m concerned for the Republican party. I just hope when everything is said and done the Republicans will have a candidate that we all can stand by…and hopefully win.

I have written extensively on all of those issues. I recommend you search my site and read what I have written on Giuliani and the 2008 Presidential campaign.

It’s okay to believe in God and evolution at the same time! In fact, the Mormon church does not have an official position on evolution. According to David Brody, in 2005 Mitt believed that Creationism should not be taught in public school. I hope he doesn’t change his position on that. He’s already done enough flip-flopping as it is.

  • Flap

Well, the problem with Mitt is that you do not know his position on issues from one moment to another.

Some clarification is what David Brody requested and he received a non-answer.

This evolution question is stupid. The Theory of Evolution is constantly fine tuning itself. It has never been able to explain the origins of life completely. Religion also offered ambiguous explanations as to the origin of life. Obviously evolution has had some impact on creating life as we know it but we don’t know how much impact. It’s the nuts who take extremist positions that there is no science in the creation or that the Theory of Evolution in and of itself, fully explains life on Earth. So which nut are you?

  • Flap

My position is irrelevant because I am not running for President or anything.

What is Romney’s position on evolution is the question.
