Clearly, the McCain campaign would much prefer to have Palin helping them draw crowds and drive buzz in contested states than raise cash for the RNC in places that aren't competitive:
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was to star at two major California fundraisers and an Orange County rally for 15,000 next week, has canceled her two-day swing through the Golden State, campaign sources said.
++++++++
Well, the votes are in Ohio, Pennyslvania, Michigan and Wisocnsin and Palin must be campaigning there on a daily basis. The only trips west for her will be to Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico. -
State Rep. Mike Kernell said today that he was aware of Internet rumors about his son being the subject of speculation that he accessed the personal e-mail of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Asked whether he or his son, a student at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, had been contacted by authorities investigating the break-in of Palin's account, he responded:
"Me, no."
As far as his 20-year-old son, David, he said: "I can't say. That doesn't mean he has or hasn't (been contacted by investigators)."
Kernell, D-Memphis, cited the father-son relationship.

Obama, on the trail in New Mexico, had this to say of McCain:
"And today he accused me of not supporting what the Treasury and the Federal Reserve Bank did with AIG despite no evidence whatsoever that that’s what I had said."
To recap, when I wrote earlier today that Obama supported the bailout, I quickly was instructed by his staff that this was not the case. He just didn't oppose it, I was told.
Now he's so adamant about not opposing the Fed's move that he's complaining about McCain's portrayal.
Where, I wonder, is the line between not opposing and, ya know, supporting.

Hell, these are just words. Obama does not know what the hell he stands for. -
The organizers of an anti-Iran rally Monday rescinded their invitation to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin after Democrats protested that her presence would turn the event into a political rally, McCain campaign and Jewish community sources said.
+++++++++
Oh well. The American Jews will best remember who wanted to protest Iran when Obama is elected and appeases them.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday he was ready to debate the men running for US president when he visits New York for the UN General Assembly, and dismissed Western threats of more sanctions over Tehran's nuclear drive.
The outspoken president, who caused a storm of controversy during a visit last year, said: "I am ready for a debate with the US presidential candidates over global issues in the presence of the media at the UN headquarters.
"I have no plans in my schedule to meet with US politicians," he told a press conference.
"Last year, I said I was ready to meet with (President George W.) Bush. But now he is at the end of his term and (a meeting) will not impact our relations and future."
+++++++Barack Obama who said previously he would meet with Ahmadinejad without preconditions should be game, no?

Students in an English class at Metropolitan State College in Denver have been told to assemble criticisms of GOP vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin that "undermine" her, and students say they are concerned about the apparent bias.
"This so-called 'assignment' represents indoctrination in its purist form," said Matt Barber, director of Cultural Affairs with Liberty Counsel, whose sister, Janna, is taking the class from Andrew Hallam, a new instructor at the school.

After apparently taking erroneous information from the far-left-leaning website ThinkProgress on Tuesday to falsely accuse Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin of slashing her state's Special Olympics budget, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann on Wednesday called the governor a liar in a rant with potential ties to a Daily Kos posting hours earlier.

And if that doesn't do it, the hackers had to then upload the material they stole to Wikileak. Opening a Yahoo email account via a proxy is pretty straightforward and had the hackers not been so careless as to take a screenshot revealing traceable info in the url field, they probably would have gotten away with it. But uploading & downloading large files is much harder to do via proxy. Trust me on this. I, er, know.
So comparing Ctunnel's IP/MAC addresses with those on Wikileak's servers should be pretty easy to match up. And from there your only a patrol car away from arresting the felons.

Memo to law enforcement investigators tracking down who broke into Sarah Palin's Yahoo email account: Gabriel Ramuglia might be a good place to start.
The 25-year-old webmaster and entrepreneur is the operator of Ctunnel.com, the browsing proxy service used by the group that hacked into the vice presidential candidate's personal email account and exposed its contents to the world. While he has yet to examine his logs, he says there's a good chance they will lead to those responsible, thanks to some carelessness on their part.

Russia snubbed its nose at the United States today by announcing plans to sell military equipment to both Iran and Venezuela.
The head of the state arms exporter said that Russia was negotiating to sell new anti-aircraft systems to Iran despite American objections.
"Contacts between our countries are continuing and we do not see any reason to suspend them," Anatoly Isaikin, general director of Rosoboronexport, told Ria-Novosti at an arms fair in South Africa.
Reports have circulated for some time that Russia is preparing to sell its S-300 surface-to-air missile system to Iran, offering greater protection against a possible US or Israeli attack on the Islamic republic's nuclear facilities. The missiles have a range of more than 150 kilometres and can intercept jets approaching at low altitudes.

Israel will now attack Iran sooner rather than wait for these anti-missile systems are delivered. -
Barack Obama sharpened his attacks on John McCain and mocked the Republican's recent calls for reform in two stops in Nevada on Wednesday after days of listening to nervous supporters fret about the Democrat's chances of taking the White House.

Obama was supposed to be running away with this election but voters are rejecting him. Bring on the mocking and new aggressiveness – his internal polls must show him desperately behind. -
Republicans struck back at the Obama campaign’s accusations that Michigan Republicans were aiming to use foreclosure lists to try to block some voters from casting ballots in November.
A group of Democratic senators, including the party’s presidential and vice-presidential nominees, Sens. Barack Obama and Joe Biden, on Tuesday asked the Justice Department to ensure that Republicans aren’t allowed to use such tactics. The Justice Department said it was reviewing the matter.
In a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Robert M. Duncan, chairman of the Republican National Committee, accused Democrats of trying to use the foreclosure crisis “to fuel otherwise meritless attacks.â€

A false accusation/lawsuit in order to damge the GOP with Michigan voters. What a surprise from the Democrats? NOT
