This is what the Democrat-Obama sponsored economic stimulus REALLY IS – PORK and excessive spending that will NOT promote American jobs. Nancy Pelosi proposes a bailout for the states, including birth control.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly defended a move to add birth control funding to the new economic “stimulus” package, claiming “contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.”

Pelosi, the mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who once said, “Nothing in my life will ever, ever compare to being a mom,” seemed to imply babies are somehow a burden on the treasury.

The revelation came during an exchange Sunday morning on ABC’s THIS WEEK.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.

Come on. Is Pelosi saying that less children mean less costs to the state? Or is she proposing a massive bailout for states that are running massive budget deficits?

You be the judge.

But, it sounds to Flap like the same old tax and spend, liberal nonsense of the 1970’s – ALL OVER AGAIN.

    This is an irresponsible statement and position to tell American women not to have children while she is the mother of 5. This sounds like a communistic control of the size of a family. What is she saying about stopping the illegal flow of immigrants and all of their babies that will further burden our health, education and welfare systems?

    Most American families are not a drain on our economy, because we pay our share of taxes.

    Ok I am hesitant to comment, since I am absolutley not on the Obama / Pelosi side of the fence, but I just listened to the statements made. I know she is a mother of 5, but I don’t think she is speaking to the men and women, probably married, probably both employed or at least one, with a stay at home parent taking care of the kids. Adults who are having children, taking care of their own children, working jobs, and paying taxes. I can understand how birth control can certainly help the budget on the state and federal level. You mentioned what is she saying about stopping the flow of illegal immigrants, well could it be that that’s where a lot of the money going out to children is going. To people who keep having the children 3, 4, 5 of them, not interested in birth control but not working, not paying taxes, not contributing to this system that they are sucking dry. Now I know she didn’t mention any particular group of people, because that wouldn’t be politically correct, but come on that has to be where that is going. I don’t see that as communistic birth control. I see that as we have got to STOP letting everybody suck us dry by just allowing this to keep on going on. Let’s educate these people and show them a better way than getting their monthly “mother’s day” check from the government. Just a thought.
